ladies and gentlemen we have a runner up for death march of the year! this tom has been traumatized at some point in his life and when we would get within 30 yards of the tree he would jump and put a hell of a run on us. I've personally never seen a cat with a set of lungs like this cat. normally a cat jumps, runs 100 yards and trees again. not this guy. we were in alot of bad boulders and cliffs and he would figure 8 then make a b line for the next canyon. I was still climbing and the dogs were still trailing when the sun went down. not very often that I get sore legs, but I hurt from head to toe today. I didn't get many pics cuz we could never keep him shut down , he hit dry ground after the second time and the dogs were too tired to keep his pace. my dogs are in tip top shape, but we hit the long end of this track. turned out at first light and didn't catch him till noon. over 5 miles as the crow flies. catching a cat like this makes you appreciate those 1 mile runs. I think this cat will live to see a ripe age unless some one cuts him in a foot of snow.
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.
These types of lions defiantly make a houndsmen appreciate the races that end up with a short hike. On the way to the tree you think “wow I am glad to have this one caught, let’s take pictures and head” after it jumps the second time you think “forget the camera leash the dogs before this sucker jumps again, I’m done!”
all my idiots are still in there! day 3 today. hope I get em back. just cant trust people anymore. if the wrong person picks em up its bye bye 5000 dollar dog , shock, telem, and gps collar!

I would have to agree there sometimes you take them short easy races for granit kinda wishing that the race was longer. But when them all dayers happen you tend to remember how nice them 30 minute races are. Good job and nice pictures. Good luck getting the dogs back.
got off work yesterday and by the time I got to the mountain where I lost my dogs the sun was down. I had a couple good friends that helped me. they dropped me off at the very top of the mountain and I hiked all night recovered all but my good old female. got home in time to work this morning. got a call from my dad at noon and he had found my ol Hook dog!!!! all 3 of her collars were dead. but happy ending, got all the dogs back!
