Your pics always seemed to come out good better than mine. What is ranger out of :?: I rigged around for an hour but it was raining hard around here most of the day.

-spanky -look at all the backeast coondogs in that pedigree-- theres a few on there that i know have produced some beardogs - i think rose was only dog i know that was bearhunted- i ran with her a few times when george P owned her-she was a real nice pup
i saw the pedigree on buckshots site and just decided to try one-- glad i did -
i am real happy with ranger dog- 2 years old - he is as good natured as ive ever seen --he just doesnt do anything wrong - no trash-- no fights- never laid in - made every race since first time --- the worse thing he ever did was make a few extra turns around pickup before he loads up --
lol im telling you it just aint natural for a dog to behave as well as he has

he is still a turn in dog ,only way ive used him - but i think he might make a bear dog :)

Hi Guys, thanks for thinking of me Jason ! I am back from China and cecking out this site and other hound sites daily.

Pete is right. I sold all my dogs . Hard to do but business and family had to come first. I really get a kick out of the storys and photos here. I miss the hounds like he** but sites like this one keep up with whats going on and whos doing what.

Pete, that Rose dog turned into one super nice bear dog. I remember the first bear we showed her.Do you ? We walked her into a tree and I held her head so she could see the bear in the tree. That was all it took ! She started chopping them off at about 120 a minute . What a thrill to listen to her while walking to a tree. You never had to stop and wait for a dog to bark to know where the tree was when she was there. She had good speed, good nose and good grit.an excellent all around dog

I have a pretty cool video of her and my Dixie dog on a big bayed, walking bear in Maine.Really its not a video but an audio. Tobey and I had hunters kill bears two days in a row . One hunter left. We all walked in close to the action. It was nonstop barking.Thickest woods you could imagine. We got about 20 yards from the dogs and couldnt see a thing. Tobey took the hunter in the final 20 yards while I waited with the two tagged out guys. I kept the camera rolling. You can hear just constant chopping and growling from the dogs and bear and then right in the middle of the war a huge "BANG" . Then the dogs going absoulutley nuts . We rushed in .The hunter had made a 10 yard head shot and put the bear down . As good a job of baying as my dogs have done and a perfect job of slipping the hunter in for a shot by Tobey. I always said Tobey was slippery and boy he proved it there ! LOL
How did the rita dog turn out Pete ?

no doubt Pete every once and awhile you may get lucky and pull a big gamer out of competition stock but not likely to happen in every litter.
One thing I noticed is some high powered stud hounds back in the 3rd and 4th but also if you notice that litter is not even close to being line bred like 90% of your competition stud ads you see today......

george -- rita is standing on the rock in that pic- i cant remember when she didnt make a race - she really shines on the longest runs -

i use her to rig or start when sassy is out of comission- does pretty good job ---
its kind of like football team -- rita settin on bench cause i have sassy --
she will leave sassy in dust if its a long race now but shes 3 years younger --

gary has a littermate that is leading his pack lately - and he is a great rig dog

he also has another littermate that is pretty nice dog-

curby is hunting another littermate-
i think was a pretty good cross

-- i have a baby pup same cross that was only one to survive---so this time im keeping the best one-- lol

i have crs pretty bad , i dont remember the day your talking about with rose but remember once i turned her in and when they treed she was only dog i could hear till i got close - its was very hot -late afternoon and i dont think ill ever forget that day -
she sure was an awsome tree dog - :D i can remember a few times as a pup she didnt quite make it but she sure wanted it -- she had no quit in her

Maybe they could see but i couldn,t  Anyways my young dog oak made his second tree start to finish and was actually doing a nice job treeing.Oak, Cole and Guiness treed this bear today.
