On lion I gotta say a dog named jip that I actually bought from sam derringer Just a superstar and made things happen. On bear a puppy I raised named smoke. He died this year at 8 years old. The hardest hunting hardest headed dog I've seen.

My best dog was my first wink was a outstanding coon dog there wasn't many nights We didn't catch a coon what made him so special to me months and months to get him to like me and hunt for me he was defiantly a own person dog had him 4 years before he fell through the ice and I lost him at age 10. What Really gets me down I never once got a picture of him and never got to lay him rest in the ground. Miss the old cuss. My secound that stands out is my ole man of 14 years old just treed his last coon about 2 months ago he's just a outstanding dog from cat to coon.

All the dogs that I have now are my best in thier own way, but I would have to say that my favorite would have to be my two year old white dog Fink. The reason being is that he is just so loyal and loving to me. When I got home from the salt lake city burn center I was sitting on the porch all depressed that I couldnt hunt and my wife decided to let the dogs loose to cheer me up. Fink just came over and laid his head on my lap while the other three just ran around like a bunch of puppies. That is what really won a spot for him in my heart.

Here is mine...The one on the right(my best) is my first "hunting hound" Annie, which got
me started into the hounds. The one on the left is my "pup in training" Tucker.

Somewhat new at this game, started later at it than most,
plus my state isn't the best for hound hunters, I have
some learning and catching up to do.

Thanks Brent,
I showed my wife your online photo album, there is some
great shots. It must be hard for you to pick one dog, it
looks like you had a ton of great hounds.

It's not easy pickin one hound when you've had afew good ones.
I lost another great female a couple weeks ago.
Autopsy showed heart attack from small noduals growing inside the arteries and valves of her heart.
She was an awesome hound, was treeing solid at 9 months old ..
My wife Wendy bought her from Janet Kosnik as an 8 week old pup so she spent alot of time in the house as a pet but when you put her down on a lion track she had what it took to give everything necessary to catch the cat.
If there was a way to climb up on a leaner or a limb Mag would figure out how to get in the lions face.
I did a cross twice with her and my Ol Dan male and got some great pups.
Her and Ol Dan were the team leaders for many lion hunts....

Taken by a mine shaft just before he was two, cold nosed , quick , good voice , Tom on the right is good , but certainly not as good as his brother

Luke has been my overall best hound but at 10 years old he is slowing down and getting behind. I have walked to many trees that he was treed by himself. I have yet to see any hound come close to the stamina that he had in his younger days. I have had colder nosed hounds and better bear dogs than he is but as a package he is the best hound I ever had. He is also the best hound I ever had in figuring out complicated tracks.
