introduction

Post by rambo »

Hi, I live in southern california, I have 3 pitbulls that I would like to start using for catch dogs. I used to bowhunt deer and rabbits as a kid, duckhunt, fish. Am getting back into hunting and I would really like to hunt with my dogs. Really want to start hog doggin, but I also like hunting in general.

I have the opportunity to move to either colorado or texas and I am having a hard time making up my mind. Which place is better for all around hunting? I know texas is an obvious choice for the hogs but other then hogs how does it match up texas vs colorado?

Hello Rambo.

You already used the dogs on hunting? Pitbulls good breed for hunting for a wild boar?

Texas is about 99% private land and hard to get permission. Colorado has a lot of public land but I don't think they have hogs. Choices choices!

I just relocated to Texas (2 weeks ago) Hunting is super, you just have to get aquainted with some hunters. I love Colorado, but believe Texas offers more year round dog hunting opportunities. Nice looking dogs!

I havent used my dogs to hunt hogs. There are none in my area. Its something I want to get into.

From owning pitbulls I can tell you that they are good dogs, and my dogs are more than willing to catch just about anything.

from what i have heard and read online etc. they make good catch dogs.

from first hand experience catching hogs, i cant comment.
