I guess I just see it different than most. Didn't know who you were at first, now that I do, I honestly thought you had more class... I do surely appreciate your work, but I just see this as another example of wildlife being sold out. I would of had a lot more respect for Denny Austad if he had killed the spider bull one on one. Hiring mossback that pays a posse of guys to camp out on that bull is not what I'd call "fair". Denny didn't earn that bull, he bought it. If I was a hunter that had that tag, I would want to find my own big ol tom. It would mean a whole lot more to me... Big bulls, big cats, big bucks, should be measured in blood, sweat and tears, not bought and sold by taxidermists or outfitters. If someone gets him fair and square, great but I'd sure hate to see him meet his demise because someone "sold" his hide on the internet...just my opinion. I used to guide some 20 or so years ago, but got tired of the lack of respect for the game from most hunters that thought they deserved a big bull versing earning one or thought they were buying a bull and not buying a hunt....

pretty sure he didnt say anything about a guarantee. i didnt read anything about him or his guides camping out on the cat. said he had a tip...a area the cat runs...and if somebody killed it and was mounting it he would like them to use his services. sounds like he would like to mount a big cat instead of little ones. if i had the tag i would at least go look. maybe its not the one your looking for...he didnt say 500 bucks for the tip just let him mount it if you kill it. you dont have to kill it. pretty reasonable offer to me.

He's also no nonsense, so you'd be wasting your time if you're trying to pull something. (Sorry to sound cynical but i don't find most people to be all that generous.) Anyway, I found Jim to be very honest and pleasant to deal with. I sure liked dealing with him. And I'm a grumpy old man who doesn't much like anyone, so i think that's saying something. You can look his phone number up online at http://www.highlonesomeblueticks.com .

Phil is as classy and humble as they come. I don't remember reading anything about him boxing in the cat, or even him showing the lucky individual that has a tag, the cat's track. This isn't a "just bring your weapon and kill the cat" case. You would still need to have the dogs to get the job done.

Who are we to say this individual doesn't deserve the cat? Maybe they have been waiting years to draw this tag, and have been hunting all winter, but haven't found anything big enough to put their tag on. This may be the break they have been looking for to making a dream come true. I would hope the individual would see that having Phil mount the cat is more of an honor than a price to pay.

hunt3653840478 you are talking like this would be some canned hunt or something? phil is just being nice enough to offer a tip on where one might start to look for ths tom of this caliber. if you have caught very many monsters you know how hard they can be to find with their huge home ranges ect. as far as your comments on his class and respect for cats you obviously dont know him. phil has more respect for mt lions than anyone i have ever talked to and is a very classy guy. seen it a million times on the forum, guys get hammered on here for just being nice guys? just wonder whats wrong with people sometimes?
