Just looking for some thoughts... Who has it better, houndsmen in the US, or Canada? Opened a big can of worms!
Hike in, tie em back, hike out.

canada has provinces that dont alow hounding of bear im told ,and no handguns at all ,but overall the pards are way ahead of us when it comes to red tape in my opinion based on hearsay.messing with a lynx here in maine is about the same as shooting a california condor lol. they are considered endangered despite the fact that maine is just the bottom edge of their geographic domain.i guess the grass is always greener on the other side.

I think this is more of a matter of state and province than country. Texas is pretty good except no bear, but if you're into hunting pigs then there's no better place. Bobcat, Lion, and coon are all year round and are varmints so all you need is a plain old hunting license, I believe you need a trappers license if you are selling hides however. Canadians do have a leg up on beer though.

Kordog you got it right about a big difference from one provence and state to another.
If you have it good enjoy it. I like elbow space and any kind of good beer!
Definitely more choice of what to hunt out west, love to see those cat pics. :)

not even close, the U.S. has much more opportunities for houndsman. Canada has only a few provinces with hounding, although we have some very high quality hunts such as Nova Scotia bobcat,British Columbia bears and Alberta lions.
