I had heard good things online about Badlands, and a few negative reviews from some family that purchased early equipment. I liked the features they offered and purchased a Diablo as an all around pack. I have been very impressed with the pack, and think it's the perfect size. It never gets too hot since you're back is not touching the actual bag.
Now to the point...I called Badlands (Vortec Outdoors) and they had some of the best customer service I've ever experienced! I knew their warranties were among the best, but this wasn't even warranty related. I wanted to purchase a gun sling since my pack didn't come with one, and Bryan (the cs guy that answered the phone) was ridiculously friendly and chatted for a bit before asking for my address and telling me it was on its way!
Great customer service, great product, and all around nice people. I'm looking forward to purchasing more of their gear!! I know it's a bit of a rant, but they deserve to be recognized!

Re: Badlands Packs
I purchased a Badlands pack 2 years ago. Great pack, I haven't had any problems with it.

Re: Badlands Packs
I would recommend badland packs to anyone. If you are looking for a good packboard look at the bullpacs. I own one of each.
