cattle killer big Tom taken

Post by southwestwalkers »

This big cat was taken just a few hundred feet from my cousins front door. She has a cattle ranch where this big cat had been killing some cattle so it was a legal deperdation. He was taken in the early evening without hounds. He just came strolling in like he owned the place... wish I could have been there with the pup and some seasoned dogs. He was a good size dont know what he weighed but looked good...

He looks pretty healthy and the teeth look to be in good shape. Any idea why he took to livestock predation?

As clean as his teeth are I would say he is young and couldn't resist the easy meals. That would be fun though to turn out some young dogs in that scenerio.

on 2200 acres the cattle are like fish in a barrel..... its simply easy.

I wish I could have been there with hounds....

Thanks guys. Although I would luv to take the credit for folding that big kitty it wasn't me. So now ya know Im a honest man....lol If I took that cat you forsure would be looking at my smiling mug in the photos as well...
It was taken on my cousins ranch by her husbands brother who was there to do the deperdation. He was over there and having coffee one evening and they where telling him about the lion problem and when the guy walked out to go home the sucker was walking between the houses. The guy leaves a house after having a cup of coffee and shooting the sh%t and there's the cat is standing 50 feet away....

Chalk one up for "I rather be luckier than smart" or " The right place at the right time" Marlin Perkins could not even do better..lol

On a depredation deal like that, can you still keep the cat in Az?
