3-19-12 Blue Eyed Tom.

Post by nvlion_hunter »

Well wasn't planning on going out today so I slept in. Woke up at 8 saw all the snow and beautiful weather and couldn't resist running the few canyons behind the house in the car and in my jammies. Cut his track right off the bat ran the rest of the canyon and came home to load up the dogs. Managed to get back up and turn the dogs loose by 9:30. Sat and listened to the race for a few minutes and started hiking. I got to the rock they had him bayed up on at 10:45 and the second I got there he bailed. They managed to get him caught in a terrible tree for pictures within a couple hundred yards. It was a good day, there's still a dang nice tom out there to chase again, all the dogs did awesome and my 7 month old pup was the #1 dog of the day picking up all the losses, locating before everyone else and trailing like a rockstar. Sorry there's no pics of the dogs.

Yeah it definitely brightened the mood. Is it 3 in 2? Damn no wonder I'm broke hahahaha. It has been a decent year for the conditions we've had, only 2 more and I've reached my goal for this god forsaken season. Hopefully next year I can keep up my average of 15 by march.
