Thank you for all the feed back on the pups. Good or bad I want to know how they are doing.

Earl. Your female will not get that big at all. She was always small. and so very cute. I liked her so much.

Post updated pictures if you all can..

Looking good tk.

There's no mistaking the "almonds" over the eyes and the white-dot forehead.

My female maybe comes in at 25-30 pounds and trust me she aint neglected on food. lol... She is small, had her out yesterday just taking random trips hiking threw the woods she did great running logs bobbing and weaving threw blow downs. Pretty excited for the up coming months.

I just weighed my female, she is 28lbs.
IMO, it's important to keep a pup on the lean side, just able to see the wavy look of ribs, but no features of the spine, to avoid the propensity for future bone / joint / hip problems. Mine's just right.

I see alot of Rock in Ty. He's a smaller framed dog for sure, but that's what I was hoping for. I prefer small lithe dogs, but somehow my other male who is Ty's cousin is huge.

also got mine on the scale and she comes in at a whopping 22 pounds... She is the right build and has the right shape. I agree with growing the pups on the thinner side I have a male Redbone thats around 72 pounds and he is racy tall and fast for a big boy

It's been about two weeks since I did the deer breaking tarsal gland / electric fence training with the pup, so I thought I'd hang the gland out again, just to see if the first lesson "stuck" and to reinforce the deer breaking.

I chose a different location to hang the gland this time, as dogs equate / remember "receiving a lesson" with the particular place that they received it. Upon discovering it, it looked like she recognized the scent immediately, and snuck in for a closer whiff. At 10" away, it's like a switch flipped, her tail went between her legs and she beetled out of there, and fast. Obviously, she remembers well, lol.

Next wil be to set her up on some live deer with the tritronics ready. This effort now should make the yearly deer-breaking tune ups much, much easier.

Spoke,

I bet my pup doesn't grow much more, he's pretty small but he hit a huge growth spurt awhile back and I think he got his height but hell fill out more. I bet mine is around 40 lbs now. Ideal size in my eyes.

That was a guess, but I did weight him at 57 lbs. Out of the 4 pups that I saw of the bunch, J was a lot bigger than any of the others. I had got 2 pups but I lost one, the others seemed to have a smaller build and finer boned.

Emma weighs 42lbs today.
Sounds like your J is the largest of the bunch.

Had her out for a hike today, she scented bear crap for the first time and found two lion scratches. She was interested in the scrapes  .
