Ashland WI

Post by Hounder- »

I am moving to Ashland, WI for work and I am having trouble finding a rental place that would allow two hounds.

I am wondering if any hound guys in the Ashland area would board two hounds for me? I would obviously pay a fee and supply my own dog food, can also supply the houses if needed. The dogs are behaved. I can and would invest in barking collars if that is a deal breaker. They know not to bark but I can't guarantee 100% silence.

The boarding would not start until mid to late May and run until September'ish.

PM me with any interest.

Thanks much.

Hounder,

I don't know many dudes up around that area, but it might be worth your while to give a call up to the Saxon pub. Jerry Brower is the guy who owns it and he's a hound hunter. I don't know the guy a bit, but a friend of our's Uncle is friends with him.

Nolte idea may help..
Jerry's daughter runs the Saxson pub but she or Jerry may be able to help or at least know someone who will. Wouldn't find a nicer guy than Jerry and he knows hounds. Be careful, allow sufficient time to talk to him, he's full of story's. All good.........

Thanks for the tips guys, appreciate it. A phone call can't hurt and I am willing to give anything a try in order to do a little running this summer.

Also, dog walkers, good idea! Maybe it will get my mutts in enough shape to not be blown out of every race this summer. We may be on to something here.

I will have to check for a name. I had a guy haul a dog for me couple years ago that has a rental house outside of ashland. Think it may be just for snowmobilers, but not sure. Can't recall his name. It was a little berg just outside Ashland with a bar next door. I find out his name.

Hard to believe one of those little shacks on the edge of town wont allow a dog, or 2.
