Re: Boone Shockley passes away
WALKED DOWN THE HILL TO MY DAD'S ONE DAY AND ASKED MY UNCLE COTTON WHERE MY DAD WAS..HE SAID JIMMY SMITH HAD LOST A DOG AND HIM AND MY DAD WENT TO LOOK FOR IT..SO I WALKED BACK UP THE HILL TO MY HOUSE AND WROTE THIS SONG..I PUT SOME GUITAR LICKS TO IT,WALKED BACK DOWN THE HILL AND SANG FOR MY UNCLE COTTON..I TOLD HIM THIS WOULD BE A COOL SONG FOR SHORTY MARTIN AND THE BOYS TO PLAY AT HIS BEAR BBQ..
DEDICATED TO JIMMY SMITH & BOONE SHOCKLEY (MY DAD)
"FRANKENSTEIN"
(The Dog)
(Verse 1)
Well I bought myself a coon dog
Bought him sight unseen
I ordered him straight from an Ad
In a Full Cry Magazine
When I first laid eyes on him
I thought that I'd go blind
I never knew what ugly was
Til this ugly dog was mine
(Chorus)
I Named Him,
Frankenstein, Frankenstein
That's My Hound Dogs Name
Yea Frankenstein, Frankenstein
So Ugly It's A Shame
No Better Dog At The Tree
No Better Dog Trackin Game
Than Frankenstein, Frankenstein
Yea That's My Hound Dogs Name
(Verse 2)
Well one night me and Frankenstein
Were on a real hot track
Frank caught that coon in the water
And the coon got on Frank's back
The event that happened next
Will make you laugh no doubt
That coon took one look at Frank
He puked, then he passed out
(Chorus)
I Named Him,
Frankenstein, Frankenstein
That's My Hound Dogs Name
Yea Frankenstein, Frankenstein
So Ugly It's A Shame
No Better Dog At The Tree
No Better Dog Trackin Game
Than Frankenstein, Frankenstein
Yea That's My Hound Dogs Name
Yea Frankenstein,Frankenstein
Yea, That's-- My Hound-- Dogs-Name

Re: Boone Shockley passes away
It's been a while. Thank you Pete he will always be a legend to me as well.
Re: Boone Shockley passes away
Boone Shockley brought his pack of cat hounds up to Northeastern California in the dry, rocky, windy, sandy, sage brush desert and consistently treed cats. Boone's dog were one of only very few packs that I ever knew of to consistently rig bobcats in this desert without snow and catch them. Boone's dog were the real deal cat hounds and he was a real deal cat hunter that caught cats in some very rough conditions. Sorry to hear he is gone.
