Not to be an ass but you guys are lucky no one was hurt and not just by the cat. Some things to think about before you go crawling in to those holes, is loose rock in the back (ceiling) and ribs (walls). Also there could be bad air or poison gas. JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT! But that was cool.

Thanks guys,
It was definitely a whole lot "Western", but I guess in these small rural towns these boys need a little excitement!

Re: Once Crazy and Intense Lion Chase; Video
There's a black eye for houndsmen. Not only does this video show what looks like an illegally killed cat but look at how this will appear to the antis. Go catch a cat and hold it all day while everyone from town is called up to come kill it? Awesome catch by the dogs and person who started it. But dogs should have been pulled after the first segment of video. We have few enough cats in this state do we really need to do things the wrong way just to make one more dead?

@ Bear_Wild.
It was my understanding that the hunter was on the mountain, but in another drainage.
As far as the Anti's, they will always have something to hate on, we shouldn't live scared.

Re: Once Crazy and Intense Lion Chase; Video
Correct me if I'm wrong but the way I understand the law is that the hunter shall be present at the time the dogs are turned out and be an active participant in the race. We should be scared of the antis because they are consistently taking away our opportunities to run dogs. The last thing we need to do is give them more leverage.

bear-wild, just like the anti's you are jumping to conclusions and have no idea what happened that day. If talking about something you have no idea about and trying to bring out the negative side of thing is helping anyone, please feel free to tell me how. Maybe instead of jumping to conclusions and running your mouth you should ask questions or just not comment in the first place. How do you know where the hunter was when the dogs were turned out? Mr. I know the law... Where you there? Didn't think so... neither was i, at first but maybe if you would take a look at some of the other signs you could understand the situation instead of making accusations.
Take a look at the dogs in the video.... notice them missing anything important? Maybe tracking collars... Lets see what else, oooh they were in a mine shaft. Might be kinda dark to just walk in there without a flashlight.... i think he tried to use his cell phone but it was too dark..just guessing. The idiot that found them probably wandered all over that mountain that day until he got lucky and ran into them. Im just guessing...but maybe it snowed the night before and the track was all snowed in. Maybe those idiots couldnt get a four wheeler where they needed to get to, maybe they had junk snowmobiles that broke down that morning also. Maybe one of them had to go to town to get part for a snowmobile while the idiot that got off work that morning looked for the dogs. Maybe one of the guys that was there at the first of the hunt...not the shooter, had to go to meetings at work. Maybe after his meetings he brought a flashlight so they could see what was in the mine shaft. Maybe the other guy...the shooter was trying to find some of the other dogs that headed around the other side of the mountain and that is why they had to called him. Maybe one other guys was called, just guessing but maybe he lived close and actually owned a snowmobile that worked and could make it close to where they were to help get everything off the mtn. Just guessing, but maybe that was the guy that started running out of the mine when the shooting started, maybe that was the guy that crapped his pants...now sure though. Maybe you could tell us everything that happend that day since you like to make up your own version of how things happend and what laws were broken. Im sure it would be a lot better story.
Best of luck to you, jason 801 633 4659
