I admire your tenacity, the year round hunting is held basically on the ranges of the New Mexico's big horn sheep. Several of my hunting partners have some luck on there, but conditions can be rather exteme. Most of this is rocky and arid country, so plan for lots of riding and saddle miles. Also an expereinced bare ground strike dog is a must. Much of the country doesn not hold a track very well and you will rely on your dog's nose to guide you thru it. If your dogs have not been broke of mountain sheep plan for a few wrecks because dogs love their smell and even if deer broke will many times leave screaming their heads off. It will be a wonderful expereince huntng this majestic country, I have been fortunate enough to hunt it a bit and the boldness of those southwest mountains is spectacular.

Have fun and good luck

Bticked,

The best scenario I could suggest for a "training ticket" would be for you to coon hunt, especially since you live in ABQ.. The year round units are EXTREME as Mike said, not necessarily the best place to train. Good luck
