Another Recall on Diamond Dog Food

Post by Outlaw 3 »

I don't know if you all have already addressed this, but it might save a dog's or even a person's life so I have posted a link to yet another recall on Diamond Dog Food. This one stemming from exposure to Salmonella.

I have fed my last bag of Diamond Feed. When they had the big recall 5 or 6 years ago after all the dogs where killing over from moldy corn going into the food I stopped feeding it for a few years and then I finally got my nerve back, but this is the last of it for me.

Here is another link to the latest recall on Diamond Dog Food. This one lists the products and areas affected. You may want to check the list to make sure what you are feeding is not made by Diamond and being recalled also.

It seems I read somewhere that salmonella very rarely make a dog sick, the handlers that are feeding the dogs should be more worried about getting sick than the dogs. I see Idaho isnt on the recall, I have been using Diamond Extreme Athelete for three years now with great results. The dogs look and perform great on it. I tried The Taste of The Wild High Prairie Canine formula recently, they loved it and did great on it also but I went back to the Diamond Extreme Athelete, it is 32% protien and 25% fat and costs about $38 for 40lbs versus the Taste of The Wild, it has 32% protien and 18% fat and costs $43 for 30lbs.

Symptoms of Salmonellosis in Dogs and Cats

Gastroenteritis (inflammation within the stomach and intestines) is the most common finding in dogs and cats infected with Salmonella. The symptoms most often noted with gastroenteritis are:

* nausea
* vomiting
* diarrhea (with or without blood)
* abdominal pain
* fever

Other clinical manifestations can also sometimes occur with salmonellosis, though they are less common than gastroenteritis.

* Some dogs and cats may develop bacteremia, endotoxemia, and/or pulmonary embolization.
* Abortions, still births and weak puppies may be seen if the uterus becomes infected with Salmonella.
* A small percentage (less than 10%) of dogs and cats may die acutely with salmonellosis.

I've got the simple solution, if you don't buy it, you wont have problems. I wont buy a vehicle from a company that had to take bailout money and i wont buy diamond dog food.

That bailout that G.M. took saved numerous jobs and the company turned arround and made the biggest profit ever. I wont buy a Ford, I like to drive not walk.

I am not sure how a privately owned dog food company with quality control problems is related a to companies producing poorly made vehicles is related. I do agree that if a company cannot produce a quality vehicle, that company should be allowed to go bankrupt, it should not be the responsibility of the taxpayers to bail that company out. Allowing GM to go into Chapter 11 Bankruptcy is the natural course that should have been taken and did not necessarily mean the loss of thousands of jobs.
How is it fair to Ford and Toyota to be asked to compete not only with another car company, it is a car company that has the unfair advantage of the government giving it all the breaks. I, too will never drive a Chevrolet or Chrysler product as long and Ford and Toyota can continue to produce quality products WITHOUT our tax dollars.
Adios,

With the recalls that both Toyota and Ford have had in the recent years, I would not concider either of them a quality made vehicle. Give me a Dodge or Chevrolet anyday!!!

A commie? No, I beleive that it was a good investment, or we could have just took that money and used it to put more people on welfare. Nothing like working your azz off day in and day out and not being able to afford to go to a doctor when needed but every useless MFer on welfare that have never had a job or wanted one for that matter is at the doctor several days a week, costing our country millions and have no chance of ever repaying it back, that is a problem that needs to be addressed. I beleive that helping GM out was a wise desision, the company made record proffits and are able to repay the bailout back.
As far as Toyota goes, there is a sucker born everyday. Of course anyone that owns one will tell you how great they are, not too many people like admit there mistakes. At one time Toyota did make good vehicles, that was years ago though. Toyota is still riding that reputation.

Me bieng a pinko commie? LOL! You might want to look at your self, nothing like supporting a Japanese owned company and not a American icon. :lol:

I'm not really sure how we got on the subject of vehicles from a diamond dog food recall, but as long as we are I guess I'll throw my $.02 in. I for one would like to see the country stop buying everything from China, and then listen with a big shit eating grin to the huge sucking sound of their economy deflating. And then I would like to see all our manufacturing jobs come back to the United States including companies like diamond dog food and many other products that could be made here in the United States. Of course this is all just a fools thought. But I guess I've never been accused of rowing with both oars in the water! Take care!
