I WOULD HAVE TO SAY DEE DEMOSS WOULD FIT UNDER THIS CATEGORY. LIFE TIME PLOTT MAN AND BEAR HUNTER. HE WAS ORIGINALY FROM WASHINGTON AND LATER MOVED TO IDAHO. WAS THE FOUNDER OF THE CASCADE LINE OF PLOTTS. THEY WERE KNOWN FOR BEING TOUGH, SPEEDY AND FAST. SOME OF THESE PLOTTS OUT OF HIS LINE WERE ALSO BLUE COLORED WICH IS A TRAIT I HAVE NOT SEEN. THE CASCADE LINE HAS KIND OF PETERED OUT BUT MANY PLOTT MEN CAN STILL FIND SOME CASCADE BLOOD IN THERE PEDIGREES.

HE WAS KNOWN ALMOST WORLD WIDE AS A BEAR HUNTER. JAPAN OFFICIALS HAD HIM COME OVER TO HELP RID THEM OF THERE MAN EATING BEARS. I DONT KNOW EXACTLY HOW MANY HE TOOK BUT IT WAS ENOUGH TO WIN HIM A HIGH MEDAL OF HONOR PRESENTED BY THE JAPANESE. DEMOSS WAS ALSO FEATURED ON A TELEVISION SHOW AT ONE TIME. WHERE IT WAS KNOWN THAT DEE PUT HIS DOGS ON MANY BEAR. BREEDERS WOULD GIVE HIM THERE STOCK TO PROVE OUT AS A BEAR DOG.

DEE DEMOSS IS NO LONGER WITH US. HE PASSED AWAY SOME YEARS AGO. BUT HIS LEGACY WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED BY HIS DEVOTION TO BEAR HUNTING WITH PLOTTS.

Dee is in the clas of the Lees and Ben Lilly. One dog he had was on over 800 yes 800 kills . He traveled all over the world and caught bears all over the world . I do not know how many bears Dee caught or killed but I heard well into the thousands .

If I remember the story right the 800 kill dog was one of Earl Cisco's culls,LOL I used to have a picture of Earl holding him along with George Van Boven,Judd Shores I think and one other guy.George Van Boven and Hod Woods are two other names that come to mind as legends.Earl and Hod are both gone,I am not sure about george haven't heard his name in years, would be curious if anyone else knows if George is still alive.Curtis Price is another Northwest legend that is still hitting it hard.

First off, I want to say sorry to bearbait for the semi hijack of this thread and next would like to apologize to beardogger4life for being decieved on my personal webpage. You have caught my page in the midst of construction and I do apologize if that has made you feel this way. Yes I am a licensed outfitter currently, but not for use of hounds, but for use of beagles. Sorry beardogger, I would never and have never proclaimed myself god's gift to hounds on bears or cats, just one who loved to hunt and liked to talk to people about it, sorry if it I came off that way. You yourself catch way more bears (and other game for that matter) than I, I agree 100% on that. Anyways, many that know me know that I have hunted maybe 5 times this year and have got out of running the big hounds for personal and other reasons that I don't owe anyone a explanation for.

I figured that since I was being talked about here I would at least respond. Again, sorry for the hijack and hope this helps clarify some things for inquiring minds.

Current still living today I would say Greg Anderson. He catches a lot of bears with young dogs. And he does it in multiple states.

Travis you might want to pull foot out, the dog was not a male but a female . Dee was not to well liked but he was a hard hunter and hunt and kill he did and not just in a small corner in the northwest or in the u.s but on seperate continents. He made his living as did many others in the northwest working for the timber companies and was known to be the best that is coming from the timber companies themselves and not houndsmen with something to prove or an ax to grind.

I can tell you one thing Earl Cisco didn't have an ax to grind or anything to prove.

Now why do we have to go and get personal.

I'm surprised that bear ever got to you. I figured you and Dave Malm were so close nothing else could ever get its mouth on you. Besides maybe beardogger.

just a little info On Dee Demoss the dog theif, the reson Dee demoss moved to idaho was becouse he was wanted by many for stealing dogs, Im not saying dee wasint a hard hunter but a man that steals dogs is worthless. And more then half the dogs Dee took to japan where none other than Frank Methvens dogs O but nobody herd that part of the story. frank and dee use to hunt together untill dee stole franks two best bear dogs. So as for Dee demoss he was a theif and a liar and pay the credit where it should go to Frank Methvan a true bear hunter and houndsmen. The last time and only time i hunted with dee demoss and his high powered plotts he showed me what a elk was down in randle,Wa o i mean his dogs did sorry lmao

NWbeaglehunter,
hey all i was trying to do was call you on your B.S. and expose you for the liar you are about hound hunting. i know for a fact that some of those pics on your web sight were not even yours and some of those kills you weren't even there on. i like the new look to your site, and glad to see you got rid of the pics i called you out on.

You don't need to appolagize to me. the person you should be appolagizing to is that poor guy in bremerton, remember that poor guy who got attacked by the bear. the game warden called off 2 REAL HOUND HUNTERS with over 50 years exp. between the 2 because you had them brainwashed that you and your pack crap gold, walk on water, and catch everything you turn loose on. you never did catch anything over there in bremerton did you? as i was told by the warden you showed up about 3 to 4 hours the incident and you told them the scent was to old and your dogs wouldn't be able to trail it/ didn't they even give you a 2 week kill permit? Anyway my work is done here for now but if i see or hear any more of your lies you better know i will call you on them :D
HOUND HUNTING ISN'T A HOBBY IT'S AN ADDICTION

Its such a crazy statement that I didn't think it needed a response. That being said, no its not true. Just a very vicious rumor started by some sawed off sucker who's jealous of Dave Malms pack of wonder plotts, if he even has them still.
