I read the text again and it says , "or agents of law enforcement" which is what USDA trappers are now. Be interesting to hear what USDA management says.

There is no doubt in my mind that APHIS supports this ban. It is job security. If anyone does not believe that USDA wants the sport hunters out just follow along with what is happening to SP here in Or. A usda guy snaring bears acted as law enforcement and made false claims to get a houndman out of UNmarked property that is clearly open to the public. If sport hunters want to hunt the traitors and cowards working as govt killers must be stopped.

I'll give them this...it was a professionally done bit of propaganda...a clear call to action, landing page with video, easy to spread the word around on the internet. Doesn't matter that it is full of lies. Using these methods the anti's are able to reach out to the non-hunting population, who are generally reasonable people but just uninvolved with politics, with their twisted message. This broad exposure is powerful leverage on lawmakers who don't want bad publicity that may come if they don't stay in line with HSUS. This is where the true battleground is.

It doesn't seem to matter that we draw three to four times as many people to the Capitol than the anti's do (it didn't with the CA Senate). It doesn't matter that if asked, people are generally supportive of hunting, even if they don't do it themselves (don't believe HSUS twisted surveys). We need to expose the non-hunting public to this great American heritage, and garner support from them early. With the truth presented, it will be much harder for anti-hunting extremists to spread their lies. A more modern approach with broader outreach to present the truth is needed, instead of reacting (too little too late) to misinformation that is put out there by our enemies.

Does the CHC set aside money for public relations, using relatively low cost grassroots efforts leveraging the internet and social networking?

SB 1221
SB 1221 will be heard in the Assembly Water, Parks, and Wildlife Committee on Tuesday, 26-JUN-12. We are unsure of the start time as of yet, but the controversial nature of the bill and the anticipated turnout of the public may motivate the Chair to schedule 1221 as the first item on the agenda. We’ll be sure to update everybody as more information becomes available. It is critical that we have as many people as possible attend the hearing; we need TWICE as many as the number that attended the Senate Natural Resources hearing. Please broadcast this information far and wide.

CHC Meeting
The CHC meeting this coming Saturday will be held in the Venetian Banquet Room at the Holiday Inn in Rancho Cordova, California. The facilities have been reserved from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Address:

11269 Point East Drive
Rancho Cordova, CA 95742

Directions:

Please visit the following link and enter the location you will beginning the trip from... http://www.mapquest.com/directions
Once you arrive at the hotel, enter the lobby and take the elevator to the second floor and exit to the left. The Venetian Banquet room will be to your immediate left.

Facilities

The room will be arranged in theater-style seating in order to accommodate the large turnout that is rumored to be expected. The room will comfortably hold approximately 120 people.
Coffee, Ice Tea, and Water will be served.
Food is available for purchase in the restaurant area on the first floor.

If you would have been there or called in to the conference call # you could have asked this question then, the attendance on Saturday was pathetic!

Fellow Hound Hunters,

We had our CHC meeting last Saturday and I was blown away with the pathetic turn out! We are in a major crisis in California! I drove over 500 miles to attend the meeting and I know others that drove further than that.

This isn't the time to roll over, its time to fight for your rights! Do what ever is necessary to be at the State Capitol Building on the 26Th. Your California hound hunting future depends on it.

HSUS had their rally at the Capitol on the 12Th and only drew in approximately 60 fools!

CHC did get a little media attention from Channel 13 news and believe it or not the LA Times!

Don't give up! We are starting to gain some ground and educating the general public on the HSUS and their false and misleading statements toward hound hunting and hunters in general.

CRA, I'm not from California. But I have made several mentions of this on other posts, and would have thought that it would've started a firestorm. But I am starting to get the impression that it doesn't make any difference that every houndsmen in the United States is watching. I just don't understand all the griping on this forum, when everybody should already know that everybody reading this agrees with everything that's being said. it Is the rest of the country that you have to convince not all of us on this forum. I'm glad i'm not the only one that notices what's going on Take care and good luck!

P. S.: CRA and a few others this is not ment at you. But the rest of you have to get off of your asses.

July 2013? 2015?

AMENDMENTS TO SENATE BILL NO. 1103

Amendment 1

On page 1, before line 1, insert:

SECTION 1. Section 507. (b) is amended to read: It is unlawful to permit any dog or falcon to pursue any upland game or waterfowl during the closed season on that upland game or waterfowl, to pursue any fully protected, rare, or endangered upland game or waterfowl at any time, to pursue any game or waterfowl at any time, or to pursue any upland game or waterfowl in a game refuge or ecological reserve if hunting within that refuge or ecological reserve is unlawful.
(c)(1) The department may take any of the following actions:
(A) Capture any dog or falcon not under the reasonable control of its owner handler, when that uncontrolled dog or falcon is pursuing, in violation of this section, any upland game or waterfowl, or any fully protected, rare or endangered upland game or waterfowl.
(B) Capture or dispatch any dog or falcon inflicting injury or immediately threatening to inflict injury to any
upland game or waterfowl during the closed season on that upland game or waterfowl, and the department
may capture or dispatch any dog inflicting injury or immediately threatening to inflict injury on any upland
game or waterfowl at any time, or any fully protected rare, or endangered upland game or waterfowl at any
time.
(4) Owners of dogs with identification, that have been captured or dispatched, shall be notified within 72
hours after capture or dispatch.

Just a few quotes to keep the theoretical? probable? unthinkable? future of California's hunters in perspective:

"We must indeed all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall hang separately."

-Benjamin Franklin, July 4, 1776, replying to John Hancock's remark that the
revolutionaries should be unanimous in their action.

" Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."

- The Bush Doctrine, President George Bush speaking to a joint session of Congress.

California's big game houndsmen are slowly, but surely being backed into a very tight space between a

jail cell and the barrel of a loaded weapon in the hands of a California Game Warden. Not a pretty place, but

one that could soon take the place of your duck blind or favorite hunting woods. So print this out and pass it along to you buddies that hunt anything and everything. -Pete

Wow!!! After the first page of this topic rest of the country realized that the houndsmen of California had a problem. Not only do you have a problem with your hunting privileges, but you also have a money problem. Not only in your state and local governments. But the houndsmen have a money shortage problem also. This may sound mean, but unfortunately money makes the world go round. And you are as houndsmen and houndswoman going to need a pile of it. And from the circus that the rest of us have been watching, I would imagine that you have choked your donations from others wanting to help to mear pennies a day. Maybe there is something the rest of us don't know!! I certainly hope so, because if the money man that is in charge of your fight hasn't put the right people to work for you (paid them). And let the rest of the people that would like to donate, know that your ducks are all in a row. I believe that you are just treading water with you and noses just above the surface, waiting for them to shove you under. It's your ball bounce it however you choose. I guess after you lose it all, you will just flee to surrounding states. We have seen here as Colorado, Montana, Idaho, and other states the tracks from those that preceded you, and have not been impressed. I for one thought that the houndsmen and houndwomen were cut from a different cloth than the majority from your state, but maybe I am wrong. Because you are sure not making it obvious to any of us. Lots of luck, You are going to need it  .
