both garmin and telemetry collars?
im sure this has been talked about before but curious as to how many of you run both GPS and telemetry collars on your dogs? if you do use both does the terrain determine when you use them?

Re: both garmin and telemetry collars?
Terrain does not dictate this....common sense does. Love the Garmins, yet they FAIL...rarely now but they still do.
The Telemetry Systems very seldom fail!
Most of ours will wear a Tri-tronics as well....not because they are not Broke but to ensure that their memories do not fail!

Re: both garmin and telemetry collars?
Like all of these guys have said, mine wear both. Never had the Garmin fail, but it is sure a good feeling to know a back up is there if you need it. If you don't need it you aren't out of a thing.
Re: both garmin and telemetry collars?
I use both n rarely need the beep collar . The other issue besides if the Garmin fails is battery life issue , if u can't get to ur hound or he gets out of range for 24 hrs or so batteries are dead in Garmin so it's useless. That's an issue that they really need to improve I get sick of having to charge collars every day. Even if the lasted 3 days or a week it would be a lot better.
