CRA wrote:The California Politicians have no idea about Public Safety in the Cities or the Wood's!

Public Safety is already in jeopardy in California! Just look at the crime and murder rate since AB109 has been in affect! The City of Stockton alone has had 31 homicides this year! We are only half done with the year. Stockton is just a smaller farming community.

California, right now is experiencing what unmanaged "wildlife" will do and not the 4 legged ones! When I say "wildlife" I mean the ones running around in the cities harming innocent people, women & children! Look what has happened to California's crime rate since AB109 has been in effect. The California Governor, Senators, and Assembly thought it would be wise, humane and save money to send a bunch of violent gangsters and drug mutants out into the streets of California without jobs, skills, education, or the drive to work! They victimize the local communities. Their only skills are stealing and harming others with violence. Do your research on AB109 and you will see the HUGE rise in crime since it's been in effect!

Between AB109 ( The early release of thousands of dangerous felons from state prison early and eliminating their parole ) to SB 1221 (Ban the use of hounds for Bear and Bobcat), Prop 117 ( fully protect the Mountain Lion and give 32 million dollars a year from California's general fund for habitat), Prop 4 ( Ban the use of foot hold traps), SB 1480 ( basically adding more restrictions to Predator Control Work and adding more trapping restrictions. Now with Lieu's amendments). California is a true public safety issue! In the woods or in the concrete jungles!

Top that off with the same idiots doing all they can to see that the true law abiding, tax paying citizens, cant own or carry firearms, but the sagging pants gang banging menus to society has one in their waistband!

California's Political leaders bright idea to save California money and gain back the 16 billion dollars they have blown on social programs is to lay off law enforcement, parole agents and thousands of other city and state workers, and at the same time release thousands upon thousands of dangerous felons way too early on their sentencing! Releasing these unsupervised felons back into your communities, without any type of supervision. Getting youth strung out on their drugs and joining their gangs!

Now California wants to turn our Forest's into the same type of zoo that the cities have become.

In my area we have already had several Bears and Lions come into town this spring. One Bear was actually walking down the streets of a residential neighborhood in town just at dusk. Kids out playing. Californians think Mountain Lions are a public safety issue, just wait until a year after the Bears go unmanaged. Camp sites will be raided! Orchard will be stripped of its fruit! Bee Boxes will be destroyed! The fawn survival rate will drop to an already even lower rate! Bears have no fear of coming into yards or camp sites loaded with people for easy food. Bobcats are just plain hard on game birds and fawns.

The way the California Government is voting with laws like AB109 and SB1221, "We the people" will be prey in the cities and woods. Lets not let them turn our woods into a dangerous place also. Please call the numbers Dale posted above and give them an ear full.

Michigan Hound Hunters, I want to thank you for your support in backing this attack on California's hound hunters freedom.

Sorry folks but this bill should of been killed yesterday. Instead the Assembly Chairman Huffman didn't get the votes so he orders a "Special Vote Only hearing"! What a bunch of BS! Chairman Huffman asked both sides to only present facts. Yet the Assembly knew the facts and voted with emotions! It's just as Assembly Member Berryhill stated only in California can something like this happen.

CRA, You hit the nail on the right there, good job man. Yesterday you could tell Huffman was on the other side just by the way he spoke and acted, another cull. I just got a phone call saying that there will be a re-vote on Monday the 2nd, I guess CHC posted it on facebook, or so I was told and they want another big turnout like yesterday. I was also told there were about 1,000 of us there and only 50 something of the culls there, I know there were a bunch of us, good job everyone. Please, if you know otherwise let us know as soon as possible so everyone can make arrangements, I'll be there. I also noticed that there was no tv cameras there that I noticed, what the hell was up with that? If there were that many people in 1 place about anything else it would have been covered, I think we need to let all the news stations know when we'll have another bout with these culls so we can get a little public support. Here it is the next step, we knew it wouldn't be very long until this came back:

Ca Houndsmen
4:52pm Jun 27
ATTENTION ALL HOUNDSMEN AND WOMEN, AGRICULTURE/TIMBER/BEEKEEPING INTERESTS, DEFENDERS OF SCIENCE, AND SUPPORTERS OF THE HUNTING TRADITION:

In a highly unusual and questionable move, Senate Bill 1221 will be granted a special session and a FIFTH call for a vote on Monday, July 2, 2012.
There will be no public testimony allowed, and the room the meeting will be held in is so small that few, if any, members of the public will be permitted inside. CHC and COHA will make sure we are in there.

We must not let them slip this bill through quietly, and are therefore urging everyone to come to the Capitol for a No on SB1221 Rally...the more of us that are there, the less likely they will feel comfortable sneaking this bill through.

During our meetings at the Capitol on June 12th, CHC and COHA observed a Yes on 1221 rally with a whopping 53 members of the bill's supporters. The chanting of these 53 people could easily be heard from inside the building.

Now, I ask you, imagine the sound that 1000 of us would make! IT WOULD BE DEAFENING.

We need you there! We need you to make your opinion known by making your voice heard! This is where you will let everybody know where you stand! This is where you will join shoulder to shoulder with your fellow Americans, signs held high, and leave no doubt that you will protect your hounds and our wonderful tradition with every fiber of your being. We cannot lose. We must not lose.

The political scheming and disregard for the will of the people has got to stop. We must take our state back! It must begin here and now!

Join with CHC, COHA, and USSA in defending what is rightfully yours. Do it for yourself. Do it for your hounds. Do it for the houndsmen and women that came before us. Do it for your children and the future generations of hound hunters that are counting on us. Hound hunting must not be banned. Not on our watch!

I guess it comes as no suprise that jared huffman received an award on may 20th 2012 from the H$U$ for california's humane legislator of the year award. He even has the pictures to prove it on his web site. I also saw on his web site that he loves sport fishing. I sent him an e-mail asking him to explain to me how fishing is more humane to animals than what we do. I stated the facts. First the fish is baited or lured into biting your hook, then you set the hook into the fishes mouth or even it's stomach or gills, then you winch it into a net. At this point the fish is exhausted and at that time you determine whether or not to kill the fish or release it with an injury to it from the hook. Where as we simply chase an animal up a tree where the animal has the choice to stay in the tree or jump out and run off. Once our dogs are leashed and we decide not to harvest that animal, there is not a single hair harmed on that animal by our dogs. I also informed him that less than 18% of hound hunters who buy bear tags are successful at harvesting a bear annually. I don't think that I'll hold my breath for a response. That stat also shoots down ben hueso's comparison of "using hounds to hunt is like fishing with dynamite".

This was sent out by Dan Tichenor from CHC:

The reconsideration hearing for SB1221 will be on Monday at about 12:30. We should gather at the Capitol at 10:00. We want to be seen around the Capitol and halls with our signs and buttons as Assembly members arrive. As always it is important that we be courteous.
The meeting room is very small and there will be no access, with the possible exception of Josh and a couple of our lobbyists. The meeting will be very short with no testimony, as they take roll and vote on this one bill.
Be prepared for the bill to pass out of committee, but the fight is not over. In fact we have momentum. We did not expect to stall the bill in this committee, so we did better than we expected and better than they expected. We gained significant momentum this week and it important that we keep it up as we move toward the Appropriations Committee. That is why we need to have a large turnout. That is why it is more important than ever that we be courteous and not block the halls.
Assemblymen Gatto and Hernandez have supported us by abstaining on the bill. We have called to thank them. We should NOT call them or visit their offices anymore, as our large presents is getting to the point of be harassing. The other side is harassing them, and they probably don't appreciate it. They have both thought this issue through, and they are very unlikely to be influenced by HSUS lobbying.
So, please come to the Capitol again and to the outstanding job you have done in the past. We expect to have to call everyone out one more time at the Appropriations hearing in early August. Please help us keep up our momentum and keep fighting!

Well guys,

I called every number that voted yes for the bill. Of course you only get to speak to the flunkies. But I left word that it was no longer just within the boundaries of California, that people were upset clear to the Carolinas.

I politely stated that there were a lot of people from out-of-state that came to California and put $3-$5000 into California's economy. And then asked, what their position on the bill was. And when they happily said yes they were voting for it. I politely informed them that I was contacting many people that hunt from out of state and the general consensus, Was that we were all going to continue to put $3-$5000 into California's economy even if they do pass the bill. The only difference, was instead of spending it on a hunting trip. That we would be donating the money to whoever was running against them in the next election.

All of the flunkies that answered the phone were quite shocked. But I really don't think they cared, and I don't know if they will even deliver the message. Several were actually quite rude. But I guess that is how it is when you have no respect for the people that you work for.

I find it so hard to believe, that the citizens of of California can accept the fact that their tax dollars are being spent on wildlife management. When it should be a game and fish issue. Anyway I really just wanted to let people know, that they were typical politicians with no respect for the people they are supposed to represent.

Thanks Willy

If everybody could do this from all over the US it would get there attention, this fight in California isn't just our fight it's ALL OF OURS FIGHT Like Percelle said years ago:

“We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to stop all hunting in the United States ... We will take it species by species until all hunting is stopped in California. Then we will take it state by state.”
— Full Cry magazine

You would think that when a group lays out how and what they intend to do to us that it
would be easy to prove to our shit head law makers what there all about!

Well maybe I can make it clear as mud. This is an open invitation to everyone from Maine to California to make the same calls that I made today. It was really quite easy to get through, I didn't get a busy signal on any one of the numbers. Remind them, that the out-of-state hunters are organizing and will donate the $3-$5000 that they normally would have spent on a hunting trip to to whoever is running against the ones that vote yes on the bill.

Let me remind you, to be polite when you are explaining this. And believe me for several of them it will be hard. Especially the one that was the co-author of the bill. Two of them I actually had to ask them to stop being so rude and interrupting. So be be prepared to bite your tongue it was hard for me!!

I think I only had approximately 20 min. in the whole ordeal. So from the East Coast to the West Coast get busy because you only have tomorrow. And I don't think a few phone calls will break anyone.

Even if as I suspect, the flunkies are not giving the messages to the big kahuna. They may not have given mine. But if they get bombarded they will let the message out by accident, just from being frustrated.

Good luck, Willy
