i think spider bite

Went out to the kennel this morning, Ruby has a knot on her shoulder and a small sore that I believe to be a spider bite. Does anyone know of anything extra that needs to be done? I gave her some antibiotics and sprayed the sore with vetericyn.

Might be an abcess from a puncture wound......bite, thorn, stick etc......... Make sure there is no foreign body in there. If it's an abcess, it may have to be drained.

Spider bites usually develop a necrotic-looking black spot in the center, as in black non-viable tissue. Google for images. What leads you to believe it's a spider bite?

She's been in the barn kennel for the last few weeks. Only thing I could think of would be a spider that could of got her. Its been to bloody hot in the afternoons to do much with em, they've been loose around the house here but that's about it.
