will trade 2 bluetick pups for finished lion/bear dog

i have 2 bluetick pups that are 6 weeks old i wanna trade for finished dog. these pups look good and are cameron/arky bloodlines.

im new to the hound hunting and would like to team them up with someone so they can watch finished dogs work and tree, but dont know anyone. im in the mesa area but will be hunting all over the state.

Slow down Finished dogs are not usally for sale or trade. But half good dogs with bad habits are.
This older dog is going to teach pup every bad habit hes got So be careful in the older dog you get. Make sure it hunts the way you want to hunt.

am i better off running my three dogs with people around here with good dogs until mine get the hang of it?

you will be best off selling the two pups and putting that money towards a good finished hound. You will not even come close to getting a good dog for the price of two pups so do a little saving and be patient. Don't just believe the first guy who says he has a finished dog cause like old man said most dogs for sale are only half good. They are for sale for a reason. Try and find someone who has a reputation for selling good dogs and make sure they show you the dog in the woods. You are much better off just saving up and spending the few grand it will take to buy a good hound. Where you live it takes a good hound to catch game so be patient and shop around. Good luck

Azhunter This is only my opinion so take it for what it is worth If you have somebody that is willing to run your pups with there older dogs that is the way I would go. Older good dogs are hard to find and cost alot of money.

im going to send them off for three months to a trainer that will put them on 20 hunts a month for three months. im gonna wait till they are about 9 months to send them, and the trainer will allow me to join in on some hunts to let me watch and see there progress in the training.

Trade two of your younger dogs in on one good older dog. Then give that one pup all of your time and attention. Being new and trying to train three pups is an awful big mountain to climb.

You have truly received some excellent advice. And it appears you are dead set on trying to train three puppies in Arizona.

Although I believe that sending puppies to be trained by someone else should probably be entertained on a whole new topic. I will just mention some things that you should probably take care of prior to sending them on their merry way. I would make darn sure that you had all of the basics covered. Such as leading, loading, knowing that they are all supposed to come when called no matter what they are involved in.(Knowing what the tone button is and electric stimulation) also learning how to handle around horses, mules, and possibly ATVs. Also I would road them until when you reach down to pet them they felt similar to the bumper of your truck. As I have not come across many nine-month olds that were capable of hunting 20 out of 30 days in a month. All of the above are not really necessary if you have deep pockets and at probably $400 per dog, don't mind donating this to the trainer for his first month's pay. Once that is all in order. I would probably be concerned with how many dogs were gonna be on the ground at one time. More than likely it will be between 10 and 20. And unless you believe that your three will be amongst the most talented and hang right in there with the big boys right from the start. You will probably be on your way to donating your second $1200. Maybe by the third month if some of the other students that are more talented go home to their owners. Maybe by the third month yours may have climbed up a few rungs on the ladder to be participating with the big boys. There went your third $1200. Only leaving one more month to put the finishing touches on. Or by golly what are the odds of all three puppies not making the grade? Either way you do the math. And I have just moderately touched on the subject. Sad thing is you also could pay somebody to feed your dog for a few months. No matter what I'd have my hammer cocked and be darn sure who I was dealing with.
