astro 220 and dc 30

What's the problem ? I just got back a astro 220 from garmin my one collar # is 33 , my old 220 picked it up just as good as the other collars . now the replacement one wont ,so i changed the collar # to 23 , it pick it up a little , changed it to # 3 and works almost or just as good as my 3 other collars # 16 , 25 , and 42 . So whatcha think's wrong ?
