I have hunted it quite alot! Get yourself in very good shape and have a bomb proof saddle animal. Not alot of roads to run, if you are a road hunter. Good luck!

Just pick a trailhead and take off. All of them are rough. It has taken me 20 years to learn that country and I still find places that I have never been to before. It has been 2 years since I have been back but I have all the trails in my head. Just about any drainage, you will be able to start a lion. Once you have trailed a few, you can pretty well learn were they will end up according were you started him at. Good Luck and if I ever get to get back down there come by my camp and I will share what little I know about the country.

Just returned from Juan Miller road area. Hunted two days and no strike at Cow Canyon trails. But, was dry and got hot quick in AM. Have tough time locating water locations where you can take route so as dogs can water/cool down.

Hunted West of Beaverhead trail on 191 and wolves ran my young dogs back to me, coming within 30 yards with me hollering and shouting for them to get away! Would not advise any hound men turning loose in that area; young dogs were 150 yards plus from me and believe if I had not been there the wolves would have killed them. Got two of the three cut up but minor. Very, very lucky!

If you live in Central Arizona I would hunt The Roosevelt Lake Country. I was raised in that country north of Morenci hunt it alot still. Hunt any where under the rim or down on the Blue, But have your livestock in shape seen a few hunters have to walk out some of that country in 27.
