I might be moving from NY to work in Pinedale,WY, and was wondering about the hound hunting, any info on the area would be greatly appreciated. I run hounds on bear, coyote and coon. thanks again

Can't run bear in WY, but you can run coyote, coon, lions and bobcats. Watch out for the wolves.

Truthfully, I have been in the heart of wolf country for the last 3 months and have yet to encounter one. I have seen sign, but never seen a wolf. I keep my dogs in a kennel 8 miles outside of Yellowstone and never had a wolf come into them either. I will not lie you always will run a chance of getting a dog killed by wolves taking them out in wolf country, but if you are smart and try to avoid where they are by watching for fresh sign thenyou lessen the chance ofrunning into them.

Take care and good luck :)

wow must be real nice where you at, we all take that chance of getting a hound injured everytime we cut em, we've had 4 hounds get cut up (nothing serious) this training season on bear. i've heard and saw pictures that them wolves are real bad news for hound hunters.thanks again, i happened to look at your site do you still run your hounds often? do you guide?

Yeah, I run my dogs as often as I can. I am on the North Fork west of Cody. I do not guide, just do my own thing with my hounds. I enjoy it and it keeps me sane.......well, somewhat

Pinedale is a great place! Don't know much about the hunting there, but it's a great little town.
