I have a new bird dog (Brittany). I also have a six foot chain link dog kennel all metal.
The dog is part squirrel or climbs like one . I've done everything I could think of to break him from this. Didn't work,

so I go to tractor supply and buy the best 110 volt Electric fence charger they have , capable of electrifying 26 miles of fence, guaranteed to be bull stout. Its even got a picture of a upside down cow knocked cold on the cover. I understand about electric fences, I grew up on a farm and my Dad used them (6 volt) all the time and worked on them with the power on. My kennel is 50 feet from the nearest electrical outlet, which is right in the flower bed where I water the flowers . I thought that would be a good place for the ground rod , I put in a four ft. piece of sucker rod , drove three feet of it into the ground and clamped the ground wire to it with a hose clamp(the ground rod is the secret to the electric fence working properly).
Got it strung up around the top and plugged it in and went to see that it was working properly.
At the kennel I noticed the wire had come out of a insulator. Rather than go unplug the thing , I picked up a rubber handled claw hammer and was trying to put the wire back on the insulator. I couldn't quite get it twisted just right with one hand , so un-thinking ,I grabbed a hold of the hammer head with my other hand. WRONG!!! This is a list of things that I discovered
#1 110 volts is 104% more powerful than a 6 volts
#2 It is possible to poop. pee and puke at the same time.
#3 Toes can and will curl under your instep and touch your heel.
#4 Sparks can and will jump from your elbow to your belt buckle
#5 Your nuts can be elongated to great lengths (about a foot)
#6 Your left eye can and will blink in opposite time with your right
#7 The fillings in your teeth can melt.
#8 Tennis shoes are not completely insulated.
#9 Electricity will kill grass even through the tennis shoes
# 10 You can't turn loose of 110 volts if your fingers have a permanent grip.
Last but not least I found out the tensile strength of electric fence wire is about a 185 lbs or I would still be stuck to the Kennel

That's funny as heck! When I was younger I was catchin minnows in a ditch with a pool cleaning net so I could go bass fishin. It had a aluminum pole. Well I wasn't paying attention behind me (Where the bull's pen was) and I hit the hot wire with the pole. Lit my butt up and I jumped a good foot in the air and gave a lil shriek lol. I've avoided doing it again so far! It wasn't fun at all lol.

dropped a popsickle (unopened) between two older outside fridges once when I was younger and I could quite reach it so I tried squeezing in between when i grabbed the backside of the metal fridge I got lit up and was stuck getting shocked til it kicked my butt outta there. Didn't know what happend but my friends laughed.
