Best maps for astro.
What is in your opinion the best stock map for the astro? I have been using the garmin maps for a few years but sometimes the roads aren't accurate. I've been several times trying to cut off a race to see how the dogs are working it and end up at a old skid road that's grown in, or sometimes there's a decent road that's been established for awhile that could of saved me issues.
Re: Best maps for astro.

Just don't waste your money on the Birdseye. Granted, they're awesome once downloaded, but the Garmin server limits download rates and you have to do it a small piece at a time. On top of all that, once your subscription expires, you can't even load the maps you downloaded onto your GPS! I figured they'd stop you from downloading, but let you use what you already had...definitely not the case! BS!!!!

I too think that huntinggpsmaps.com make a great product. It's nice that the download is easy and straight forward, but they limit the number of GPS's you can put the maps on. You are required to purchase the map and with it you are issued one or two "unlock codes", one for each GPS. If the GPS happens to crap out on you or you upgrade, the code is gone. Once you use up the original codes, you must purchase more. They seem to be really understanding and sometimes will help you out, but not always.
Another route is to use http://www.gpsfiledepot.com and build your own maps. All their maps are free and you can "layer" them. Start our with a Topo and then add an ownership or road or trail or hunting districts. It's a little more cumbersome than huntinggpsmaps but a little cheaper. Basically the same map in the end.
That's my .02 and probably not worth that........
