Hooray we caught a coon!

Post by bearhunter77 »

Now for you guys who don't live in southeast Idaho to catch a coon is splendor in itself. I've caught a few this winter but the timing had been so bad most other times with dogs trying to dig out a dened up coon. But last night was fun. Went out with ole BEARCLAW freecasted the dogs and had one up in ten minutes. Hell we were able to watch the dogs working and the coon in the tree all from the truck window. Man it was almost as exciting as catching a bear for Pete's sake. Of course after the fun BC and I were actually pondering calling it a night and having our first flawless hunting adventure but that would just be out of the norm. We freecasted again and ended up having what was probably a deer race till 4:30 in the morning. That's about right for us. We felt normal all over again.

I wondered if this happened to other people too! Its like when you make a turn out and tree, you gotta do it again. And before you know it, it's 2 am and your soaked and you should have stopped after the second, or even third, but you had to be brave and try again !!

Feels good to know we're not the only ones. Besides BC and I like those deer races. It gives us plenty of time to come up with a good story to tell in the morrow. I mean.............we are are men..........and we do hunt.............so that means we have to have the biggest toughest grittiest trashbroke hounds out there otherwise that would make us honest fellas and who likes a houndsman who can't tell a good story.
