220 compass calibration issue
Anyone had trouble getting their 220 to re-calibrate? Mine is constantly giving me grief and then the compass isn't working anyway and needs to be recalibrated again..... seems like the compass is shot.

Have you ever updated your software?

Re: 220 compass calibration issue
Re-updated the 220 again today.......worked a little better but still not right. When compared to a regular compass noticed that the GPS north is always off to the east by about 40 degrees, which of course puts the map off.

Re: 220 compass calibration issue
norwester, are you tracking with the 'north up' option so your screen always has north to the top of the astro?(hope that makes sense)
It's hard to tell what's going on the other way with the map always spinning.(at least it is for me and everyone else I know)

Re: 220 compass calibration issue
Like not color blind said, I run mine with the north up option. Never need a compass, up is north, down is south, left is west......
Makes me dizzy watching the screen do circles the other way....lol
If your not familiar with the area, walk 10 feet and your track line on the gps will tell you what direction your going.
