Re: BEST STATE TO LIVE IN WITH HOUNDS AND CAT HUNTING
Depending on where you live in Montana. I would say you have the best of it all. Bobcat, lion hunting....Here is the added bonus, 24/7/365 coon and no license required for non-residents, unless it has changed over the last few years. You can train your dogs year around. Something that can't be said about many other States. I would find the style dogs that work in your climate and terrain and go to huntin.....
Owning good hounds takes time and learning from the school of hard knocks, I never understood what the old guys were taking about until I become one of the old guys! Moving don't help that department much, reading your post, looks like you have no shortage of game to run. Do what I did several years ago, buy a good hound and let it train you, even at that, the first ten years was pretty much wasted learing how trash races sounded.....More important, if you have kids and are able to make a living in a place that is healthy living. The hunting is just an added bonus. This was the hardest thing for me to figure out.
Good Luck!
