You need to force a software update. Connect astro to computer and use webupdater yo make sure you're current on it. Disconnect from computer and leave collar off Turn astro on once its up and running go to dog list select the problem collar and then select show info. Then hit menu highlight upgrade collar dont press enter. Now press and hold the on button on collar and press enter on astro before releasing collar button. Once collar is upgraded your problem should be resolved.

Something seems to be going on. Odd to have 3 go down in a short time. Any issues with the units at all? Are you using telemetry collars as well. If so what frequencies, and type. Has to be something causing it.

If the forced update did not work. Have you tried to reset the collars? Disconnect the batteries for at least 10 mins. If this does not work most likely will have to send to Garmin.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier, Glad that video helped you out.
On the last collar Is it not trying to update or is it failing 1/2 way through the update? If it's failing at a certain % what is that.

If it's around 12% check the antenna inside the box and see if it's shorted or something physical.

If it's not trying you can try to do the same but continue to hold the power button on the collar while updating (start with the collar off then Press to turn on and keep holding it down, Then start the update)

Another option to try is disconnect the battery and then try to do the update.

That could be a fault with the GPS antenna, It's the little board in there that is connected by a small Coax wire. It's not the Black antenna that you can see.

Check around it for any sign's of shorting or damage or something obvious around that part.

If not you can send it to us and if we can't get it to work we'll swap it out for a Refurbished unit from Garmin for you. We have been Keeping several DC40's to exchange for customers and then we just send them back to garmin and pay to have them repaired. It's kinda something we have been doing since we keep them around for our loan program. We just charge you what Garmin charges us to have them fixed for you But the nice thing is we can ship it out quickly as long as we have some.
