Re: Montana Bear Hunting
The Committe hearing is Jan. 22, 2013 3 P.M. in Room #152. I am planning to be there as I am the guy that convinced Bill Harris to carry the bill. I will testify if I have to but I have never testified for anything so i would prefer someone with better speaking skills than me. I talked with one guy who said he will testify if his schedule permits. If there are any volunteers please PM me.

I'm not very educated in political avenues but even a fool like me knows that an unorganized approach to changing or passing a bill wouldn't lead to a desirable result.

Re: Montana Bear Hunting
Ok the reason I put this post on the lion forum was to attract attention. During the winter the bear post is pretty dead and as most Montana houndmen are lion hunters I figured I would attract more attention by posting on the lion site. The post in the Bear forum is now 2 pages long so I will quit posting on here and post updates on only the bear forum.

Re: Montana Bear Hunting
I will be there to testify, I will put together a good letter. I've worked for a long tme here in Montana on a lot of hound hunting issuses. I have connected several other houndsmen who will be willing to testify also. I also spoke to bill harris and he needs houndsmen there to fill the room. If anyone has anything they'd like or can add to letter please feel free to e-mail at houndy65@yahho.com or call me @ 1-406-253-4670.

Because politics is always organized and the process was never intended to be cluttered right?!mondomuttruner wrote:I'm not very educated in political avenues but even a fool like me knows that an unorganized approach to changing or passing a bill wouldn't lead to a desirable result.

Re: Montana Bear Hunting
Fighting amongst our self is why none of these things get anyplace we cant even agree that we all want to hunt bear with hounds in MT without bitching about where and when we promote it. come on guys !
Re: Montana Bear Hunting
Keep us in your prayers. We have an extreme uphill battle in Montana because hound hunting bears was never allowed since they came out with the law in the earlier 1900s, and there are a lot of bunny huggers here and Retired Californians (no offense intended to the good houndsmen from that state) that now live here. We also have a Democratic Governor who a lobbyist says will probably not sign the bill unless he gets some serious pressure and hears a lot of noise from ranchers and hunters both. There is organization behind the scenes that definately shouldnt be judged by what happens on an internet forum. This is just where a few of us are generating more noise. We need all the optimism and support we can get though. Thanks for your support. Anyone from any state can help write letters or call.
