Ya just know that someone will say, (I can`t believe he put that posted with pictures of beaver marks on trees) ? He is talking bout coon goen under the ice ?! Hey, myself I`ve run island tuley coon that swam-n-dover like a beaver and resurfaced elseweres close by + they go in hollowed tunnells under the banks when trying too escape and dogs can get left high and dry end of track !I`ve pulled enoughf dogs out of beaver dens some times with the coon, sometimes nothen but the dog in there, and from out of small under the banks short tunnels/ them still fighting the coon! The give away tell sighn is a muffelled bayen barken & coon snarrlen & growllen goen-on, then ya find the breth whole for that tunnell and get ya a piece of dead wood and go too work diggen away till ya can get a light shinnen down in there an the tunnell liteup. You can figure the rest out for yourself .MTblack&tan wrote:Went out last night with my 1 1/2 year old and met a buddy with his 2 year old. They treed one right away, and then ran it again after we jumped it out. On the next area the older dog took off on trail and began running one back and forth across the channel. My dog finally joined in and they ran it a few hundred more miles until it got under the ice and escaped through a maze of chambers under the ice. All the cavities in under the ice made it a little spooky, so we pulled the dogs and called it good night.

Ya admitted which dog was the surelock homes of the pack/ the dog in front tied was a beautifull looken REDBONE & I`d take a redbone on coon or cat any day over most onter breeds of hound/if hes a good one that is ! But I won`t soil your black dogs cause I`ve owned my share of them and hunted with long time standing B&T hunters too/ funny though today all three hunters are keeping Mathess dogs not B & Ts any more ? hahahahaMTblack&tan wrote:Black eye, I got these black dogs from a guy who said they were destined for greatness. He said at one day old, they treed a lion on dry ground. 170 pounder to boot. Last of their kind dude, sorry.

You got that right Black Eye. Your name has me curious and I am sure there is another story behind it you will have to tell us one daytheir is good and bad in all breeds.

Yea your right, I was (not am) the kind who slowd down not in a hurry and wanted too like em all/ hahahah ! Maybe thats why 2 marriages later ended I desided (I surrender enoughf is enoughf) so came full circle too just watchen good looken gals and fine looken hound to just drive on by ! Let someyoung buck have a go at life and for me/ just enjoy old memorys that were !black eye wrote:mT B&T, Iv heard of some fine claims before but that takes the cake. enjoy huntin the dog and make something of it , but dont be let down if she dont pull a rabbit out of her rear. cecil j. color and breed of dog is the age old dispute. their is good and bad in all breeds. the way i see it its like which girl is the prettiest. blond red heads or brunets? a man has to like what he is lookin at before he will put time in it. i just like the quiet ones that dont talk alot or spend money. if a fella can find one of them, then he's got braggin rights.
