DC 30 problem

Post by Huntsalittle »

Was hunting yesterday and was tracking one of my dogs just fine when I lost signal on her. She was less than 400 yards from me, but a ? come up on the screen of the astro and last distance and direction locked in. Luckily I had a telemetry collar on her too and tracked her down without much problem............But, the collar had that strange blink pattern on it (one long followed quickly by one short) which I believe indicates a problem with the connection to the GPS antenna. I took it apart this morning and there did seem to be a problem where the coax connection plugs in. I think I got that fixed, but in finding the problem I unhooked the battery and the internal (WPX I think) GPS antenna connection. When I rehooked the battery the red lights came on and won't shut off. I have unplugged it twice and left it unplugged for at least 20 minutes each time, but the lights still won't turn off???? Any ideas, or will I have to send it back to Garmin? I know there are some shops that work on these so if someone knows of a good one and I can't get the problem fixed myself please shoot me an address. THANKS.

To clarify abouit the red lights, they are on solid now and stay on all the time, no blinking.
