Nice pictures, that one in tree looks as red as lots of the Oregon Coast cats. Would you mind telling a little about the breeding of those nice looking curs. Wondering also how much voice they give when trailing. Thanks Al
I actually live right on the Ohio line just south of Lake Erie. We do most of our hunting in a couple hours east in the northern part of the state.
My dogs are all 3 very different breeding. The one with the white head is just a backyard bred cur. Her parents didn't have papers, I did look into it a little and found her mom goes back to Allen Franklin's Thunder dog. My brindle female is out of Franklin's stuff on top and Mt Jackson on bottom. My male is out of a dog named Grizz that was in NC and is now deceased and a Beatty bred female. I really didn't go looking for a dog that was bred for this although I did inquire about the male and that bloodline's track running ability. I didn't know much about either females background when I got them. They have been improving steadily the last few years especially the little brindle female, she hates a cat.
They all used to be dead silent on a cold track but for some reason this season they started opening more. All 3 are 100% open on a hot track and bark steady.
