If you're still looking for a .22 mag in a semi-auto, excel arms build one and also AMT arms. excelarms.com and I'm not sure what the AMT website is, but I'm sure you can find it.

I've always used the ruger single six and just swapped cylinders when I wanted to use the magnum. Ruger no makes one in a hunter model that comes with scope rings that is really nice. Do yourself a favor and put a high quality pistol scope on it. You'll be amazed how much better a shot you are(or at least I was :) )

i have three different ones i use for coon/cat hunting ruger single six revolver with extra 22 mag cylinder had since i was a teen great gun also have a smith & Wesson model 22 a auto with a red dot scope on it that is a pretty deadly set up and last but not least i have a Walther's model p22 auto that you can purchase with removable laser site it is small and compact i use that mostly for cat hunting its lightweight and fits in the small of your back and pretty darn accurate to when sited in properly hope this helps you decide i can't that's why i have three and i like them all.

I have owned several AMT automagsII. You can only shoot CCI ammo and the accuracy of mine left much to be desired. I now use a 5.7 FNG on cats and will never change.

I have S&W 22 auto, Never Leave home with out it.
you can get it at the local PS for about $150-250. Or just go buy new one

I got a buddy that can sell it to me for $260 the camo but I told him maybe after my old S&W falls apart
$308-340
If a rim fire your looking for 22 is all you need. I hate the cost of the 17 and dont really need that for coon

Ive got a browning Buckmark, and after shooting it and the Rugers Mark2 (the Mark3 is the newest one) Id go with the browning, better trigger pull and it operates smoothly, also the rugers magazine release was on the bottom near the mag which made it hard for easy reloading, however the Mark 3 seems to have adressed this problem.

I mainly use my .22's for plinking, not so much hunting, so I normally carry a .40 S&W or .45acp but i understand that might demolish a coon.

The FN 5.7 that Raiseredge mentioned should be a perfect cat gun, its basically a .22 sized round firing a 98gr bullet.

Unfourtunatly the 5.7's are a bit more than u want to probably spend ($860), and the ammo isnt as cheap as a .22lr

If ya want a .22mag stick with the major players; Ruger, S&W, even Taurus
If ya want a semi auto, then its all in how the pistol fits in your hand, that is if ya also stick with the major players; Browning, Ruger, S&W/Walther and the Sig Mosquito.
