Hunters if you don't already have a bottle of this in your vet kit please go get one. This stuff truely is a miracle cure and it treat many more things than is even advertized on the bottle.

I started using this for cuts and scrapes on horses and was amazed how it healed wounds so quickly with almost no scarring. I mean big cuts and tears, so I tried it on the hounds when they came out of a battle and WOW! it is the best thing I have ever used and puts them back in the game quick. Bear and hog hunters this is a must.

Now here is a new use I have found for it and it has taken care of a probelm that Veternarians have not before been able to clear up.

I am sure many of you have seen dogs that seem to have allergic reactions or are prone to them and lose hair on ther underside , around the inside of front and rear legs. Many times this grow very pink and chapped looking and even gets very red in some severe cases. I have a walker dog that has had this since birth and we have tried all kinds of topical solutions, and steroid shots and bathing him and you name it with very limited success. I just thought I would give the Vetericyn VF a try on him and I began spraying his underside with it every other day for a week. PRESTO! I mean the redness went away the itching has been reuced and the hair is coming back in. After two weeks he is nearly normal and I just can't say enough about this product. It is not cheap and a 16 Oz. bottle will run you about $48. from your vet supply store but it goes a long way and you will not be sorry for spending the money..


I do recommend you buy it directly from your Vet. because the formula they get has twice the potency of the FDA cleared formulation.

I agree Mike. I had a pup get kicked and broke her hind leg breaking the tibia and fibula. The leg had to be plated. She developed an infection under the plated and the incision opened up all the way down her leg from an inch to two inches wide. You could see the plate and her bone. She had to go through a month of four different kinds of antibiotics to clear the infection. We sprayed the Vetericyn VF on it twice a day every day, and today she has a very thin scar running down her leg. That stuff is amazing! I will never be without some again.

It is an amazing product. Under another name it's used on Humans to treat skin ulcers and sores caused by diabetes. I had a small sore and sprayed Vetericyn on it and I swear, in a couple hours, it was almost gone. It's actually some kind of treated water, very safe.

Luckly enough I havent had to use it on one of my hounds, But I have used it on a young Hancock BLue Roan Stud Colt, colt was running on the range when I got him and had not been handled by humans . To say the lest he hated human at 2 yrs old. He tried to jump out of the corral and shoved a spike into his solder I roped him and tied him down, you could see all the muscle in tissue and I started using Vetricyn and started spraying it on and first thaught is I just got took again, Being use to the old cut n heal burns like hell.

I am sure this might cause a little up roar I was in the farm store today and was going to buy some of this and our Local vet was in line , so i asked him if vetericyn would work and he said I am sure it would but it is just bleach salt and water.

I would be inclined to make a solution of Dakins, and a separate solution of the .09% sodium chloride. I would first clean the wound with Dakins, irrigating with a syringe with GENTLE stream pressure, let soak for 60 seconds, and then rinse, again with a syringe irrigation with the NaCl solution. Do this routine twice a day.

Been using it on a dog that got a little sore from a bark collar and is healing up raqther well. My mom is a farrier and does a lot of work for local vets and she uses it on a ton of stuff seems to be a good product. I'm a believer anyway.

I use it on dogs horses and us love the stuff had a horse shove a stick through the side of his face sprayed him with now I can even remember what side it was on works great on cut up feet on the hounds and cuts on the husband lol

This is really good stuff and another product I keep in my saddle bags is EMT Gel. This really helps to stop bleeding when you get a a dog or horse cut up or tore up by a critter. My son had one of his dogs really slice a foot a couple of days ago and she was really bleeding. He did a quick repair with Super Glue ( that is what super glue wasd invented for) and then EMT Gel and Vetrycyn and she is on the road to recovery. When you live and hunt a long ways from the vet's office and you are really not all that interested in paying his rent you need to assemble a little critter first aid kit to pack along.
