garmin 220 question

I got a Garmin 220, to keep track of my dog and I want to use it to mark things like water tanks, elk wallows, ect. The problem I'm having comes into play when I try to navigate toward a waypoint. All I want is the compass screen, I hate the map view and much prefer the pointer that shows you the direction with the distance read out......I cannot figure out how to make that happen. Is it possible? If so how?

Found it, when all else fails just look at every option under every menu
