Hunt with the Boys from Black Gold

I used to feed Black Gold afew years back, never had any problems with it. Except the price! I have been feedind Star Pro 24/20 for awile now. A lot of the fox hunters around here feed it too. I doubt that this feed is found very far away from Texas, as it is actually made by the Lone Star feed company, I think. Of course they have higher protiens and lower fats, in different. ba

Fullcryhounds, Thank you for this post. Things that I suspicioned a while back because of this post I have found to be true. Thank you very much. I have feed purenia for about 15 years and I have seen a real change in the last 4 years with their puppy chow also. I saw on this that they are just a 1 star feed now.

Dean, thanks for your post. I have feed Purina for 20 years and have seen a major change in the last four years. This post has been most helpful. Again thanks very much. I had a friend that has won more field trials than anybody I know. Cost has never interfered with him buying feed. He wanted the best for his dogs. he also feed blackgold in the black bag. He had about 50 hounds and bought it by the truck load. He because of health reasons has sent quit hunting but a couple of years ago changed feed. He also changed from Purina puppy chow for his pups. I stuck with puppy chow on my half of the last litter that was raised. His pups looked twice as good as my pups on a different feed.

I to say the Black Gold is way over priced and I do not like diamond at all.

I'm with everyone else on the dog food just quit feeding black gold last month because of price. I did like it though seemed to be good feed. I getting comparable food for half the price now.
