Salem Turn Out

Post by mike martell »

I think we were well represented in Salem today in support of H.B.2624A.

The opposition was present with weak testimony to support there position, they have none!
We are dealing with one particular Senator, Jackie Dingfelder who likes to pander to her liberal base in Portland Oregon. Sure can't blame her. I'm sure she has a job for life!

We just need this out of committee and sent to the Senate floor for a vote.

Please keep the pressure on Salem by sending emails until this is over and done, We still have a fighting chance.

Thanks Mike 541-602-1398

What can you do if you can't attend this crucial hearing?

I would continue to email the Senate members in Salem asking them to bring this legislation out of committee and bring it to the floor for a vote. Once more, Senator Jackie Dingfelder is resisting this legislation and thinking she will simply run out the clock one more time killing our chances to advance this to the Oregonian voters.

Crunch time is here and we need every single person to submit an email to all Democrat Senators in Oregon asking them to support H.B. 2624

Thanks and for those attending.....Safe Travels!

Jon

We are fighting one particular Senator, Jackie Dingfelder pertaining to getting this legislation to the Senate floor for a vote. I predict she will try and kill this bill like she has the past few years. This should be a criminal act! Peter Courtney is not any better. Reports indicate a deal has been made between HSUS and Dingfelder to kill this bill.

Here is my position after listening to all the testimony. Odfw is still suppressing the facts behind cougar removals in Oregon and received a free pass one more year with out answering the questions, I also suspect if and when this legislation dies, IT IS OVER FOR ANY FUTURE CHANCE TO REGAIN OUR HUNTING RIGHTS IN OREGON and Big brother Government wins.

I'm just not sure why sport hunters mamby pamby around the facts! I don't think we need all the jargon from the biologist and testimony stating Odfw is capable of properly managing our cougar, when the best they can do is slaughter cougars on the backs of tax paying citizens and sport hunters and haul them to the landfill, where once more we pay to dispose of what should be a coveted trophy big game mammal!

I really don't think we as sport hunters should continue to support our Game Department for one second under the premise they really don't care or support hound hunting. Laws were passed to allow sport hunters to do what we are rallying for presently, Just like stated in the hearings, The Senators think Odfw is covered. Oregonian citizens back in 1994 under measure 18 didn't think they were voting to take sport hunter rights away with the use of hounds only to have Government/contractor hounds replace them? If you listen to the Senators ask Odfw the question during the hearings, you can tell they are all confused about management and if the Commission is capable of management.

Until we have the open conversation with Odfw and our elected officials and call a spade a spade, don't expect to ever have Bear or Cougar hunting with hounds in Oregon ever again. If anyone disagrees with my analogy, check and read your email from OOC that was generated yesterday.
