Middlefork area idaho

Does anyone hunt the middlefork area, being its roadless and wolves. Is it worth it and or safe to hunt anywhere in that zone?

lots of wolves! have a hard enough time keeping dogs safe with a good road system up here anymore.

Just drive up to Cascade or Mcall and hop on a plane, i think you will answer you're own question.

Very tuff. I'm not gonna tell u not to but if u do. bring a lot of dogs and dump them all at once because 99.9 percent chance is that u will never be able to pack any in once jumped. I value my dogs too much to hunt there anymore. Good luck

I fly outfitters in to the frank church out of challis all year, there are a few guys that still chase cats. only one guy will still chase bears on the rare occasion. They only turn out on hot tracks and usually have 3 or 4 guns spread out, they don't leave the dogs out over night but sometimes they have no choice in the cliffs. Its been a few years since anyone in my circle has lost a dog to wolves, partly due to less wolves, partly due to less hound hunters back there. even before the wolves the dogs can trail over a ridge in to some black hole neither you or the dogs will ever get out of in the winter, the terrain itself is the biggest challenge with the river around 4,000ft and the ridges between 8 and 10,000 with less than a mile between. All that said you'd have it all to yourself unless you go out of Thomas cr. if I have my way I'll get a race sometime this winter.
