Alpha: Verifying rescue mode is on

Post by joshtee »

Was looking at a Alpha 100 the other day. I did not see a way to verify that a collar had rescue mode turned on. Easy enough to find the screen to turn it on, but after that, didn't see anything that would indicate it was actually on. Does it need to be turned on every time you turn the collar on or does it default back to the last setting? Did not find anything that verified this on the handheld.

I have left my collars on before and when I recharged them and went hunting they were set to 2 min. updates. I am guessing that the rescue mode turns on automatically because if you aren't close enough to communicate with the collar you cant change it and that would take away the need for rescue mode.

Ok, so it sounds like rescue mode is the default. That is good, but there is a menu screen where you can turn it off or on. If you push the on button, I can not find anything to verify it is actually on. You can go back to the on/off page, but nothing there that verifies it being on or off. Nothing is highlighted on that page as to what setting it is on. Can't find anything on the "dog info" page either.

There isn't a way to verify that it is on, or at least that I have found. I agree it would be nice to see this option. I know on the DC50's you can tell when you change a setting on the collar.
