Re: **BUYER BEWARE**
Probably regret this, but the dog came from Idaho-went to where? Why buy a catdog from Idaho? Just wondering. No, it doesn't sound right on his end.

Don/t know anyone or anything about this, and sure feel for the person if he got ripped off. However, does not seem right to list a person as a low life crook, by name, & not submit the name of the person accusing the other of being a crook. Also have location listed as anywhere the wind blows? Hope this can get resolved, in peaceful matter. Al
Re: **BUYER BEWARE**
obviously he didnt do much askin around about Cleo, it doesnt take much work to find out what his reputation is as a dog jockey. Dont have much sympathy for guys that get in these predicaments.

Re: **BUYER BEWARE**
I never have understood why a mans ego is so,that you can't stand to pay big bucks for a dog in your own area. The dogs familiar with your terrain and climate and your probably friends with people that know the dog well. That going cross country for a dog baffles me. Just sayin..

Re: **BUYER BEWARE**
have recieved lots of private messages and there are a lot of others that have had the same dealings with cleo.
Re: **BUYER BEWARE**
Maybe buying any dog from Spencer would be a mistake, but I think it's pretty ignorant to insinuate that a person can't find a good bobcat dog from Idaho. There are a few guys around that have good cat dogs, they are just not on the site. In fact I know of a few dedicated cat hunters that prefer dogs bred and raised in Idaho lol.Let's see, I think Mike Kemp moved from Idaho to Oregon just a couple years ago and apparently he's producing TOP notch cat dogs. I think those are middle of the road bobcat dogs produced from Idaho compared to several others, but highly touted.
Tim, your preminition came true. Very insightful of you. lol.

Re: **BUYER BEWARE**
I am going to jump into this discussion--likely a mistake? 1Bigbear's comment is very true! Likely you all have seen my ad's when I am selling or offering some hounds for sale due to having some young hounds that have come along enough that the older ones need to move on.
I state in my ad's that you must come and hunt with me or I will attempt to meet or hunt with you. Prefer to come, if I can, to hunt in your area and see that what I am offering can perform under your conditions and environment? And, you may not like what you see? If you do, and lke the hound, we can make a deal!
Now after saying all of this, a Gentleman out of AZ called and was in need of a finished cat hound, plus with hunters booked, he didnot have time to come and try any of my hounds. Well, never say never! I now have shipped my first finished hound! BUT--Mr. Kevin didnot ask for, but I insisted, that he have a two week period to hunt and if not as represented----then send Bob back! I have not been paid yet, but cashier check is in mail. That will be held until Bob satisifys the new owner.
And fellows as houndsmen we all should use the old "Treat everyone as you would want to be treated".
Another slant, I trust my Bob dog enough that Mr. Kevin cannot screw him up anough that I can not straighten him out in one or two hunts. After visting with Mr. Kevin, he hunts so similiar as I do, I don't think there will be any problem.
In saying the above, two week trial may not be enough on a hound going from Eastern Oklahoma to high desert? I hunted with and become friends with Mike P. of Southern AZ/NM year before last and we attempted to catch/tree bobcats. My hounds could not do much in his desert country! I would have bet that they would have really caught/bayed/treed some bobcats----did not happen! His hounds would and did open on tracks and my hounds would join--with maybe them being able to move track out of canyons somewhat better. But, they could smell in and under the cedar trees, but track going out on side of the mountain or on the ridge, they just could not get tracks going anywhere?
SO--I am back to taking any hound and hunting in area---see what they can do--then make call as to buying or passing!
Just my thoughts,
Everyone have a great Christmas
Clyde

Always looking for the bad dude! I said why buy a catdog from Idaho[ assuming he was not from Idaho] in my experience its easier for a dog to perform to its top potential in the environment it was raised and trained in [for bobs especially].I've anybody I could get a number to in Idaho who was supposed to be a cathunter and end up talking lions and bears, or can only find and hunt bobs when snow is on. To me its the same for those who only catch bears off baits! Was also aware where/when Kemp got to Oregon. So have a merry xmas all, especially u Cobalt!

Re: **BUYER BEWARE**
I always get a kick out of these posts. The best cat dog I ever owned was born in Idaho and bred for bear yet hunted in Oregon. Now, I'm hunting a dog born in Wa, trained in Or and its catching cats in Idaho right along side a dog born and trained in Or that has been catching cats in Id, Or, and Nv for years.

Re: **BUYER BEWARE**
You live you learn! Its not our fault or his. The guy just got you. Along with others i would guess. It happens. Happened to me. I was dumb enough to have bought stranger danger dogs about four times. Never been really happy. Culled two. Lost one and sold another for what i thought it was worth. Lost my ass! I know to trust myself and myself on the site. Its a bad outllook but just the way it is. Like dogs i guess; theyre not all good, you just gotta find the ones that suit you.
As far as the pissin match: i see where cobalt is coming from. I took that comment as if he said there is no bobcat dogs in idaho. Only on the west coast. May be true but we have all read that enough i think to where someone has to stick up for the common hound. Ha. On your side oregon boys, it tried the coast once and dont think my dogs could smell their own ass over there. Just through this in because im more than happy with the dogs ive hunted the last three years here in Omak. So no sense on trying to cut me down boys. Whether they are bobcat bear or lion dogs. Thats all for now. Merry hunting!
