Tires

What kind of tires are you guys running? 4 ply or 6? I need some new ones, I was looking at either Toyo Open Country A/T 2 or Kumho road venture A/T kl48.

I've got Goodyear Duratrac on both my 1 ton and 1/2 ton Fords. They both run 18" wheels so I put the same tire on them, both are running "10 ply rated" tires, which are really a 6 ply. My half ton has a little over 20k on them and the one ton has around 10k on its. They seem to hold up well and offer plenty of traction, not to say I haven't put on chains though.....

I have Toyo M-55's on my diesel right now, so far I have 22,000 miles it looks like I might get another 10,000 out of them. I think that the next go around I will probably try some Duratrac's. I have had good luck with the Toyo's but it seems that this set is not getting the mileage that my last ones did. As far as traction goes I really like the M-55's for an all terrian tire that when in good condition do pretty good on everything. I have a new set of Duratrac's on my work truck right now and they seem to be good in the dirt and mud but not as good on snow and ice as my M-55's.

Well i would stay away from the 4 ply, its just a big passenger rated car tire. If your hunting in a halftone 6ply 8 ply or 10ply you would be alright. 3/4 to 1 tone you will need an 8 to 10 ply. And I personally have no ran any a/it's. But I have a buddy running wild county xtx sports on his Toyota. Good snow and ice tire, just lacks in the mud. If you could find some sxt m/ts I would recommend them. But depends mostly on what your going to be doing. The toyo at/2 is a nice looking tire. Should do good for a a/t. The toyo m55 on a small pick up would last for a few years I'm sure. And the ply ratings are what they say they are. The m55 does have a thicker side wall than most .

honestly its the way to go and they have never let me down. better tread patterns that are aggresive and will make you happy. why pay around $1000.00 when you can buy a great tire for around 600 shipped to your door. Me and my buddies run them on everything from toyotas to dodge diesels.

That is a recap light truck tire if it is a daily user do not go that way.

The tire size is 235 75 15, I drive a Mazda B4000(same thing as a ford ranger) It's my daily driver as well as my hunting rig.

I've been on just about every online discount tire website and a tire that keeps coming up with great reviews for snow, ice, mud, and dry pavement for smaller pickups is the General Grabber AT2. The only concern is that they don't come with a tread life warranty.

Go with the Toyo A/T2 or the Kelly Safari TSR 6ply for both you wont be disappointed with either.

I looked at the Kelly Safari TSR and found them on tire buyer for $150 with free shipping and $25 off promo code. Best deal for a 6ply tire I have found plus has a ton of great reviews on every website I've been on.

Treadwright all the way. I run them on my dodge diesel hauling two mules in the back. Never a problem great customer service. You can pick any tread design you from street to aggressive.

I have the Toyo Open Country AT's on my Excursion. 315/75-16. I LOVE THEM!
I've always been a BFG guy, but these Toyo's are quickly becoming my favorites

That is a recap light truck tire if it is a daily user do not go that way.

They are recaps but they have 10 ply and have seen them used on fullsize dodge diesel with no problems whatsoever.

plus one for treadwright . They are actually a remolded tire built the same as a new tire ,not like a recap . Also made out of truck rubber. I run them on my cummins and can't tear them up ,and I'm hard on tires really hard on them
