freeze branding

Does anyone freeze brand there dogs anymore ? I'm new to running hounds, have had allot of other hunting dogs though. I see that some hounds have freeze brands on an ear or hip . I have read some about this looks fairly easy , the question is does it work and two if the brand isn't ina registry book how who is say that it is your brand?

I guess you would just have to keep the thing you branded with and take pictures of your dog with your brand on it and with you in the picture. Other than that I don't know.

Put a matching one on your arm. Actually I had mine first and did theres to match. Really though, if you are new and getting dogs to start wait till you get established. then make a brand initials or a mark that is unique to you is what most do. But really wait till your established to many dogs with brands of guys who have been in and out in 3-5 years out there. jmo Lance
