Big pen, little pen

I keep my hounds in a 50'x110' pen, 3 weeks ago I had to temp. move them to a 20x20 pen due to some logging I was having done. They have gotten fat on the same amount of feed in the smaller pen. I never realized how much exercise they got in the big pen. My buddies all have small pens, I always thought they were BSing me about how little feed they used compared to what I use. I hope to have the big pen back up Mon. Just thought this was interesting maybe because I saw it with my own eyes.

Good to know, I keep most of mine on chains and have to cut back on feed after the season closes and I only run once a week. Plus the fact its winter is over
