Tom feeding on kill

Post by FullCryHounds »

Just got back from pulling my camera. It took about 60 short 30 sec. video clips and 60 still pictures. I thought this was a female but it turns out to be a young Tom, probably 110 lbs. or so.

Notice that cat laying on the cool ground left from covering its kill after eating meat really warms them up. Maybe its just rolling but I'll bet that fresh meat raised his body temp a few degrees.
Ive ran cats off fresh kills and they tree quick from full bellys but they also pant hard from the meat increasing thier body temp.

Must had your sneakers on for that catch.
I would take that over a hundred in a tree :)

It was a calf elk. If you go to page 5 and 6 on the following link, you can watch some short video clips of him feeding.
