couple pup questions

was my bday last friday and i decided to go pic up a new 6 month old pup and have a couple of questions. Generally at what age do most of ya's start youre pups? and does anyone on here know of a fox pen near ottawa, Ontario? as id like to maybe start this pup in a fox pen and get him on yotes when hes a litle older

i would try and start him this winter of you can. get the pup with some broke dogs and see what the pup will do. some are earlier starters and some are later, just give it a little time.

I would say it's never too early to start a hound if the pup shows interest keep encouraging it to run a pen of some sort would be a great start

I don't never start one till its 10 months, im not a pen hunter outside only and only fox or bobcat, I don't use tree dogs running hounds only, I look at him as a child when he is young and you have a hard driving race pup wont never be able to stay stuck when he is young, plus stand the possibility of messing up a leg joint when he is young and growing a lot, at 10 or 11 months old he will not be in the rear long,

thanks for the replys i would like to start him this winter but the snow has gotten crusty the last few days probly gunna have to wait till its gone now. might justa have to get a chunk of coyote hide and get him playin with that while i wait

thanks andrew ya i have been there a few times, i just dont want to run that young of a pup with a bunch of hounds that are in real good shape i dont know if they have a day thats just for pups or not

No they don't. But there is a fox pen in pittston near kemptville that's good for starting pups.
