Saying Goodby to Grandpa the Catman

Post by Dads dogboy »

Folks,

Tomorrow Mom and I are off to our Camp in Florida to prepare for Dad's Memorial a week from today.

This will close the Final Chapter on a Man who dedicated his life to his Hounds and their betterment. If the Gods of The Hunt are smiling upon us next Saturday morning we will get a Bobcat jumped and running and then have David Peightal say a few words then leave Dad to Listen to the Race in the Place he loved the Most....the Wetlands of Florida. While we won't have his Hounds for him to listen to....in a way we will have them, as Mr. Harold Parker's are Bothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins to every Hound taken from us.

God has favored us with TRUE Friends, it is said around Campfires here in the States that when you cross that final River...the River Styx, that you are lucky to have enough TRUE friends to count on one Hand. Well even after the Four Dog Thieves showed their True Colors, Dad would still have to use both Hands and Feet.....and maybe borrow a hand or two to Count his Friends, judging by the People who are taking off and coming LONG Distances to Florida to say Good By to Him!

To Those of You are not able to come but have Called, Written, or PMd letting us know that you will be there in Spirit.....Our Family Says thanks from the Bottom of Our Heart!

Most of Us Cuss this Ole Computer at times, but I for one am very Glad for the Blessings it has brought My Family in all the Wonderful New Friends we have met literally all over the World!

I hope that next Week I can give you all a Final "Florida Update" on Dad's Bobcat Hunting!

I'm blessed and greatful to have gotten to spend some quality time in the woods with "The Catman". I will never forget it. Mr. Finney devoted more to his passion/obsession/addiction for hound hunting cats and breeding elite cat hounds than could possibly be imagined. Keep the fire and race roaring!!!

The Clay Family,

Hope there is comfort in knowing Mr. Finney is in a much better place. If y'all need anything don't hesitate to call.

CJ,

There will be a host of old cat hunters right there for sure. No maybe the swamp fog of the evening will make a slight veil but possibly if you listen close you will hear that portal open and here them welcome Dad to the hunt and meet him with a lot of his best dogs of bygone days.
