Day one started with a young boar up a tree, but the day ended with a true giant being taken taken by Justin, not bad for his first bear ever seen.( Justin's flight was delayled so he missed the first bear.)

This bear treed a few hundred yards after the jumped but he bailed and went another 3 miles and bayed up in a swamp for 30 minutes before the dogs made him climb.
A few days went by chasing small bears and sows before the next giant boar was found. 6 hours of trailing and a 2 hour bayup allowed Chad and i to hike in and retrieve the tired dogs. We had to let him go as it was 1:00am when we reached the bay up.
It was day 5 before we got on another boar worth shooting. This one was a mean bear and jumped the tree once and bayed up several times, getting a hold of Oscar and leaving his mark. The bear was shot as it came out of the tree the second time, much to my surprise. The rules are no shooting until the dogs are tied up but an excited soldier got trigger happy to soon. Thank god the shot spined the bear and no dogs got hurt. The camera caught some of the action but not as much as we would have liked as this hunt will be aired on Pursuit Channel on a show called Flatliners TV next season.

We ended with ten bears treed and one bayed up, lots of dog worked on film as well.
Three dogs got hurt but none to bad, Zoey has it the worst with a bite through the face from one bear and a swat from another bear in the shoulder plus a ripped tit from a stick.A couple of dogs got their first bear wounds, Oscar with a bite in the hams and Spider with a new anus.
Both stuck and did not leave so that is a good sign.
