Good running
Had a couple of good races this weekend. Fri night the male pup struck and the older broke dog fell in with him then the other two pups, they trailed for a little while then following for about 20 min. but then fell in under that fox and put him to running. They ran him for a little over 1 1/2 hr. then made a bad lose and never really got back under it right for another hr. Sat. night they hit it in the road in front of the truck tails wringing and up, down the road trying to figure out where it went 2 of the pups went off on the left, the old dog and 1 pup went down the road went off on the right, the old dog went to opening then the 2 other pups pulled across the road to her and the race was on. Ran that fox right for just over 3 hrs. and holed him. Finally found an area with a few fox, sure makes things a lot better.

Re: Good running
There are a lot of reds around here but there too many people and traffic where they are to run. Where I can hunt there are no reds and very few greys. I've been trying to find some since the first of July and have finally found a little area with some. There is a lot of coyotes but here as soon as most of them discover a dog is trailing them they hit a road and run it for miles befor the hounds ever even get under them.

I have the same problem with hunting ground. I've ended up just hunting nearby national forest. I try to just run bobcat. A good grey fox race would be nice occasionally I don't really like the reds much. They run too wide.
